My Morning Jacket kick-off Lauren Laverne's festive MPFree giveaways

Tis the season for indie bands to do seasonal songs and BBC 6Music are getting in on the fun...

Each day this week, the lovely Lauren Laverne (yes, yes, she was in Kenickie and yes, she was on that telly show with Charlie Brooker and presented the Culture Show...) will be giving away a festive 'MPfree'. Here's quick message from 6Music explaining what this is all about:

Merry Christmas everyone! Welcome to day one of the MPFree Festive Giveaway on BBC Radio 6Music. Every day this week Lauren Laverne is giving away an exclusive Christmas cover version from some of the show's favourite session guests. These include The Kills, Jamie N Commons, Lucy Rose and Scott Matthews.

The first freebee comes from My Morning Jacket with their version of 'Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas'. This cover was recorded off-air after their session in October and squirrelled away until now.
