It has to be said, but Devendra Banhart is a more attractive-looking man without his full beard than with it. Who agrees with me? This is demonstrated in his new video, for 'Baby', taken from his current Long Player What Will We Be. Yes, there should probably be a question mark at the end of that title. No, I don't think Devendra cares all that much.
The video itself is a neat little project and features Fabrizio from The Strokes (is he the only one without a side-project, I can't remember?) and Andrew of MGMT. Ummmmmmm, it's all normal enough until 1:10 or so, but then they get zapped up into what appears to be a giant bollard before entering...some...kind of...orifice. It's sort-of star-shaped, you could say. Make of that what you will. What follows from then I can only describe as 'dreamlike'.
Get lost in the craziness.

- Banhart to make album with GZA?
This is exactly the type of song I wish he would stop writing...
Latino, mid tempo, bland. I preferred it when the tunes where weirder than the videos.
Just the type of tune that would fit nicely into the American pop charts no doubt.
Where has that air of mystique and abandon went?
