Listen: New Silver Mt. Zion track - 'Bury 3 Dynamos'

As if it wasn't cold enough today, we've got a sub-zero slab of post-rocky goodness for you all - in a Silver Mt. Zion (or whatever name they're touring on now, probably with the silly suffix of 'Tra La La Band' or some such nonsense) track, taken from their new record Kollaps Tradixionales, their first since 2008's Thirteen Blues For Thirteen Moons.

It's called 'Bury 3 Dynamos' and you can listen to it below, via the medium of the usual embedded media player splidget-widget, or head over to their brand new blog to hear it for yersel'.

More information about the record has been about for a few days now (as with the new track), but I've just received the mother of all press releases about the record (it's beautifully detailed - but I'm not moaning, depth is a virtue), so I'll do my best to summarise the main points.

  • It's the band's sixth full-length recording and first since the line-up change of 2008
  • The band now has a new drummer in David Payant
  • The band have dropped the Tra-La-La Band from its name, which is great news
  • It'll be released under the name 'Thee Silver Mount Zion Memorial Orchestra'
  • The opening track is called 'There Is A Light' and the closing track 'Piphany Rambler'
  • Efrim Menuck is now the only guitarist
  • There is a song in 7/4 time
  • It's released on Constellation in February next year

Read our interview with the band from way back when here.

Listen to our Constellation Records CloudCast here.

Sounds very very promising

I've just pre-ordered the shit out of the album

might be being stupid

but wheres the song??

We're having problems embedding for some reason...

...seems to be temperamental. Thought I'd leave it for now, click the link to their blog instead.

surprisingly good

didnt rate 3/4's of their last one or the new live tracks but this is really really great

Wow..
