Alt-rock supergroup The Dead Weather have announced their first UK tour, taking place this October.

They recently released their debut record Horehound. Read our review of that record here.

If you fancy catching up with Jack White, Allison Mosshart and co. on their musical travels you can do so at the following dates at the following places.

Tickets on sale 9AM this Friday (15 August). Numbers to ring, if anyone indeed still uses the phone to buy tickets, are in brackets.

Big venues

for a band that's released one single or something. I don't care who plays drums for them really. I wonder how much they're trying to charge for tickets?

£20 at brixton

I guess a bit less elsewhere, which isn't too bad, still reasonably pricey though. However they were excellent at glastonbury.

Oh if you're on O2 you can get priority tickets now.

Yeah, I know

I think you've misunderstood me - I just mean that they've been around for five minutes and have no back catalogue. When I think about the bands I've seen at Brixton - REM, Pixies, Weezer, the Manics - I kind of think this lot should really go and play some smaller venues. Is their set going to be 40 minutes long or what?
