Yeah. Yeah! Yeah? Are you not getting bored of the wise and wonderful bands of this world announcing Autumn - and now Winter - tours within days of each other? No, us either.
Anyway, New York dance-punk-funk (not really...) trio the Yeah Yeah Yeahs have just announced a tour of the UK.
Though, let's be honest, it's just England and Scotland, sadly. Not sure if the remaining constituent countries have 02 Academies, though.
SO, here are those dates.
November:
29 - Leeds, 02 Academy
30 - Brixton, London, 02 Academy
December:
1 - Brixton, London, 02 Academy
3 - Newcastle, 02 Academy
4 - Glasgow, 02 Academy
6 - Manchester, Apollo
9 - Birmingham, 02 Academy
10 - Bournemouth, Opera House
(!!!!!!!)
Tickets for all shows (excluding Glasgow) then click here, and for the Glasgow shows, click here.
Tickets on sale 9AM July 10.
Tickets range are all £20 (plus booking fee, no doubt...) except for London, which is £21.50 just because it's LONDON. So is naturally more expensive. You know how it works.

NOT WORKING
ACK!
Why the surprise at the Bournemouth Opera House date?
It's a stunning venue that's starting to attract some pretty great tours (Brian Wilson, Muse, Morrissey, Bat for Lashes, Henry Rollins) and with getting on for 400,000 people in the Bournemouth/Poole/Christchurch megalopolis it should have no trouble selling out.
is this onsale
now?
can't see any reference on the PCL site. GAH!
nevermind
jus saw another story saying they go onsale Friday.
Manchester o2 Academy
Doesn't exist, to my knowledge - unless I've missed out on a recent development somewhere. Manchester Academy is the student's union complex, and isn't part of the Academy group venues is it?
Seconded that yet
Almost certanly will turn into one
You're probably right.
And the press release is probably wrong. But these 02 Academies are fucking all over the place...
Given that NME have also listed it the same...
You're likely correct about it being a press release cock-up. Easy to see how it would happen, given the rest of the venues on the list, but very sad to see the venues across the country becoming so homogenised, if that's even a word. I did wonder for a brief moment whether the Manchester Apollo had been rebranded under the O2 banner given that it used to be sponsored by Carling, but I think that deal was separate from the Carling naming rights to the Academy group venues.
lol. bournemouth opera house
isn't actually an opera house. its a large nightclub. actually a half decent venue.
Turns out
It's Manchester Apollo, according to the list on See Tickets.
Right, ta. Now it will be changed.
LONG LIVE THE APOLLO.
No Edinburgh Picture House?
Well fuck you, train that leaves 5 minutes before the end of the gig! I'm definatley bunking with Karen, likes..
picturehouse
is about 1500 capacity, so probably not big enough.
Bat For Lashes
is playing both.. Can't be that much smaller than the 02 afterall.
You reckon it'll (Glesgah) be sold out before I get back from T?
they're also playing
