Listen to The Maccabees new album Wall of Arms

DiS likes the The Maccabees.

We love their new album as much as we loved their demos. In fact, we liked the early recordings so much that they played our Six Tips for 2006 show alongside the likes of Jamie T, Jeniferever and The Strange Death of Liberal England.

Anyhoo, we've been listening to the album a lot and you can finally get your mitts on it on Monday. It's definitely the sound of a band who've grown into their balls. Words like glorious and triumphant may sound trite but they seem fitting. Flickers of The Futureheads and Hot Hot Heat can still be heard in there but Wall of Arms is less happiness 'n' wave machines and much more epic-gloom, rustling shoulders with Interpol and The National, whilst still sounding like Brighton's finest indie-pop band.
