The Max Cavalera cash-in continues......
- Artists:

The album 'Live At Brixton' has been rumoured to be in the pipeline since early 1997, when it was revealed that frontman/singer/guitarist Max Calvalera had left the band due to personal reasons. Max formed Soulfly and got massive support from Roadrunner, (and a vindictive little snub at his ex-band with the lyrics “envy changes everything” on the opening track of Soulfly) Sepultura got a new singer in Derrick Green, and next to nothing - their last album had no videos, singles or tour support.
Anyway, Sepultura’s 'Live at Brixton' was recorded at the bands last show with Max Calvalera at Brixton Academy, December 16, 1996 on the tour for the 'Roots album. It is expected to include the full show that night, including classic tracks such as UK Chart entry 'Roots Bloody Roots', 'Refuse/Resist', 'Territory', 'Slave New World', 'Attitude', 'Arise' and many many more.
Whether the world needs any more exploitation for the Sepultura back catalogue is another matter: there’s effectively 2 released live albums out there (both from the Max years) - with large amounts of live material (30+ mins) on 1996’s 'The Roots of Sepultura' and the 1997 B-sides compilation 'Blood-Rooted' features another 8 live tracks from 1994. And there’s yet more live tracks on B-sides from those dates not on either of those two compilations…..
hang on, is that the ring of cash tills i hear?

2001.

2002.
Soulfly return with yet another album
Sepultura "live at brixton" ( recorded with max) is scheduled for release, now that the other members of Sepultura are no longer signed to the label, they cannot veto its release.
the point im trying to make here:
max calvalera has never ever stopped trying to make a quick buck, never stopped trying to fleece his fans with continual and repetitve re-issues of albums and multi-formatted singles on which his band plays, forcing fans to buy the same albums over and over again for 1 or 2 bonus tracks, to be fleeced liek cash cows. Sepultura without max have done no such thing.
Therefore, max Calvalera has to be, been cashing-in, while Sepultura have done their best to respect their fans by not multi-formatting and not continually re-releasing the same album over and over again with bonus tracks (since Max left).
I'd say that the above is pretty damn conclusive!

i see
Re: The Max Cavalera cash-in continues......
look at the how often fear Factory (THE (the last 3 albums both came in standard and didgipak extra track versions), Dog Eat Dog (again, reiussed with bonus tracks), Slipknot have had albums reissued . (the original version of "slipknot" for example was issued 3 times, each time with seperate and otherwise unavailable new tracks). Sad thing Is, i own most of these re-releases for the bonus track things!
I do think Roadrunnr have always taken marketing to a point whereby they are exploititing thier fans :its beyond taking the piss. But the artists don't seem to do much to try to prevent it....
