Miserable Missiles: The Dears announce fourth record

Returning on October 20, Murray Lightburn and his mob of Montreal miserablists The Dears have announced the release of their fourth record, Missiles.
Out through Dangerbird and preceded by single ‘Money Babies’ on October 6, the record follows 2007’s Gang of Losers. You can check out new track ‘Meltdown In A Major’ at their website, HERE.
Posting on their MySpace, Lightburn and Natalia Yanchak, the only two members remaining after recording the record, said how:
"We want to bring you this record whole and still warm. It's beautiful; that is the only way to describe it. A blues album, essentially. It's also long and kind of paced for love making, because that really makes everything better. 58 minutes, 16 seconds, 10 songs. One song is over 11 minutes, just like the old days. Come October, we encourage you to seek it out; it is worth every penny and all the dough just goes back into making more records, not buying solid gold houses. Thanks, in advance."
Missile's tracklisting:
‘Disclaimer’
‘Dream Job’
‘Money Babies’
‘Berlin Heart’
‘Lights Off’
‘Crisis 1 & 2’
‘Demons’
‘Missiles’
‘Meltdown In A Major’
‘Saviour’

didnt really click with
their last album, will still give this a chance though...
especially after hearing
that new song!
Lightburn and Yanchack are the only two left?
Fucking hell I swear this band have had about 30 different members, they must be so difficult to work with.
Listening to the new track now... thought the last album was shit but No Cities Left is one of my favourites...
Quite like the new song
But dear god, what pretentious pricks;

haha
"The Dears not are but is. In our mind it always has been that way, the sum of parts to create one vision. Or something like that. Personally, we feel fortunate to have a role in the birthing of every tune, in its arrival from the cosmos."
noice.
Fuck it though
I'm still really looking forward to this album. It loks as though I'm in the minority in loving their last album. I think it might be Murray's voice that gets me. Far more than it should get a beer-drinking, woman-kissing, meat-ripping chap like I (did I overcompensate there?)
I think there loast album felt a bit kind of 'disposible' compared to No Cities Left
which I think is a bit of a masterpiece, I must have listened to it thousands of times at University. Ill definately give this one a proper listen tho when I have a spare 58 minutes and 16 seconds.
definitely
in the minority right there with you. LOVED their last album and had it on perpetual repeat. Looking tons forward to new album, but only Murray and Natalia left? oh my days...fingers crossed
Did the meaning of blues change
and someone forget to tell me? I always see new records and bands described as 'blues' when the actual music is far from it.
No Cities Left was great, Gang of Losers was dull, and on the basis of this new song I don't retain high hopes.
58 minutes of love making?
The canucks must be better at it than I am. Shite.
More like No Cities Left please
I loved that album. What's with all the exciting releases coming up?
woe is me...
reading their blogs anyone would think they had such a shit time. hmm, travelling round the world, releasing 5 albums, having Canadian grants to tour everywhere sounds pretty dreadful doesnt it? new song? nah, nothing new, nothing that has the hairs on my neck standing up..shame
