Oneida, three ideas: Brooklyn dons ready triptych of new releases

We knew Oneida had a new record out some time back, but we forgot to let you know. Cuss uss. Anyway, Preteen Weaponry is the first in a triptych of new releases that they’re calling the Thank Your Parents series.

Preteen Weaponry is in itself a three-part affair, working its way through some 40 minutes of almost entirely instrumental, avant Brooklyn noise and rhythm with title tracks 1, 2 and 3.

That’s out on the 4th of August before the second instalment – a full-length entitled Rated O - ‘drops’ early next year. Both are the doing of Jagjaguwar.

Excellent

I will be buying these.

as will I

I had a Oneida retrospective the other day and was wondering when they'd have a new album out, this answers my question.

Another questin, how do you pronounce their name? I pronounce it one-eye-dar because I read an interview with one of them and that's how they said it was pronounced but other people seem to call them on-eye-dar. Doesn't make much difference, but still.

I LOVE ONEIDA

so so much

I listened to a live Oneida set on WFMU once

and the presenter pronounced it

Oh - nay - da

Saw them at ATP last year and had to pick my jaw up off the floor several times
