Queens of the stoneage: Josh Homme humiliates kid at Norwegian festival

Word reached us today, by the power of LOL and the DrownedinSound message boards, that Josh Homme doesn’t like it when you repeatedly throw things at his head. Especially when he’s trying to put on a show at a Scandinavian festival.

The title does enough explaining – click play and watch Homme unravel in a righteous hail of expletives.

Watch: QOTSA’s Josh Homme destroying young bombardier @ Norwegian Wood, Oslo; 14/06/08

This. Is. Total. Win.

<3 so much

i seriously

never think i'll get over how cool that was

yeah

that's better.

sometimes, youtube is a good thing.

usually it's bad. But now it's good.

Absolutely incredible

Reminds me of that Million Dead live video where some guy throws a beer on stage and Frank Turner makes him come on stage and lick it off the cymbals

excellent

I love it when rockstars act like rockstars

throwing stuff is wrong. Kick up a storm in the pit/jump around if you've got aggro, rather than take it out on the band.

Queens of the stoneRAGE

nice picture

i can't see the video but the picture will do.

damn you work!

i can't watch youtube stuff here :'(

Mm..kay

but you rate Get Cape, Wear Cape Fly an 8 out of 10. And if he is isn't anything but utterly fucking abysmal then I don't know what is.

awesome

it's fair enough really, when signing up for the "rock star's contract" there's nothing there that says you have to stand around and have stuff thrown at you

I can't decide whether this is really cool or the lamest thing ever.

Singer of rock band+audience of thousands vs one possibly drunk kid who through a beer or something

what a big man. The wee guy crying made me sad though. Still pretty funny.

And this is where equivocation gets you.

I had a better video than that

That showed the whole incident but it's been taken down

pretty lame

Where's the credit

Kharas?

Lost a fair bit of respect...

...for Mr Homme on this one.

Latent homophobia in his comments aside, scoring cheap shots off some kid with an army of fans to back you up is a fairly piteous way to conduct yourself.

Fair enough, folks who throw stuff at bands are knob-ends but a simple (and infinitely more classy) aside motioning to security to remove him would have sufficed.

But then, we would have been denied the RAWK AND ROLL! spectacle of threats of physical violence and general cliched twattish frontman behaviour from someone I would have credited with more character til now.

Absolutely pathetic.

What a complete loser that man is. His vocabulary is dreadful. His insults are laughable. And his behaviour is worse.

I'd have thrown something at him, maybe, but all that abuse? Super sad.

"Dickless fuckin' cunt."

Awful.

How would you know?

It blurs hugely whenever his face is shown...

Yeah...

... his choice of language is questionable but I'm going to let it slide because:

a.) His previous conduct and history shows he is clearly not homophobic.

b.) He is clearly ill and very angry and therefore most likely not thinking straight.

c.) He is a rock star, not a fucking politician.

No mercy for bottle throwing twats.

=

"people seem to lose sense of what is acceptable when they are at a gig"

a-

-men

while i appreciate

that having stuff thrown at you is annoying, that is totally unprofessional and somewhat foolish.

What I liked far more is the fact that the security team winched the dumb kid out the crowd to see his fate.

I'm not condoning this by the way...

and my first post was most certainly sarcastic, but there is no excuse for throwing shit at bands.

Yeah...

thats the best thing.
The security seem to have no regard for the kids security.

Actualolz

Drummer didn't look that comfortable about it though...

(L)

That

wasn't really that interesting. Slow news day huh?

does anyone here

actually like having stuff thrown at them? i'd be pissed off too. The kid did it because he thought he could get away with it. He didn't.

Yeah but Turner was a bit too posh to sound frightening in that vid

Homme has his about-to-kick-off voice perfected
