Interpol play one-off UK date in July, tickets on sale now

Interpol will play a one-off festival warm-up show this summer, ahead of appearances at Oxegen, T in the Park, Latitude and Summercase.

The New York act will be at Sheffield Academy on the 9th of July – tickets have gone on sale here, NOW.

Interpol will head back into the studio this autumn to begin work on some new material - more details of that here.

Well, that's as useful as AIDS*.

Thanks Interpol!

*Unless you live there.

One of those ones where you can't hit abandon reply fast enough

I was so excited

until I read the Sheffield part. Terrific.

Not bad if you live in nottingham and have a brother who lives there

Like me. Hooray. Although lack of job and money is an issue. Gah!

Slow news day?

This has been on sale for months. They're also playing Manchester too so it's hardly a one off.

yeah!

about time sheffield started coming up with awesome gigs

(shame i'm at home for summer and seeing them at latitude anyway)

I thought sheffield was good for gigs?

Red Sparrows and Converge this month isn't it?

Interpol are pretty gash live as far as I can recall. I might check 'em out again like.

Lost all interest in this band now.

Do they even play NYC any more? I don't think they do.

It's getting better

We've had Broken Social Scene, Stars, Johnny Foreigner x 3, The Mae Shi, The Most Serene Republic, This Will Destroy You etc in the last few months. Until the Academy opened though there has been a big gap in the market for bands who aren't big enough to play the arena but too big for plug/leadmill/octagon. Now bands won't automatically go and play Manchester instead because they've got the Apollo.

YES!

:D I'M SO EXCITED :D

I heard Say Hello To The Angels

in a club last night. What a song.

Still one of my fav bands

and I will be there. They are doing Manchester the day before, but I couldn't get a ticket.

They do it really well

live, from what I can recall. Could've been the drink and the drugs, but there was a whole lot more UMPH when screaming "I want your silent parts!"
