The Wave Pictures ready new album, tour

The Wave Pictures will sidle up to the Aloysius Church in London, NW1 tomorrow night, as they strive to charm audiences far and wide into buying their new album.

The band break their duck for new label Moshi Moshi with Instant Coffee Baby, which is either a record indebted to the mad joy the right amount of caffeine can conjure or odes to children embalmed, Josef Mengele-style, in vats of Nescafe.

With titles like ‘I Love You Like a Madman’ and ‘Strange Fruit for David’ (the latter out on 7” on the 28th of April) no-one will ever know for sure, but they seem like nice lads so we’ll come down on the safe side for now, until Instant Coffee Baby arrives on the 5th of May.

So, those tour dates:

March
28 London Aloysius Church (presented by Tapestry)
30 London Luminaire
31 London Camden Enterprise

April
7 London 93 ft East
20 Edinburgh Cabaret Voltaire
21 Aberdeen Tunnels
22 Glasgow Brel
24 London Luminaire
26 Leeds Faversham
28 Nottingham Bodega

May
3 Manchester Night and Day
4 Coventry Taylor John’s House
8 Bristol Thekla
10 Cardiff Clwb Ifor Bach

Fuck off Ceri Evans

I think

I'm a little bit in love with this band.

Both Moshi Moshi singles have been good

I'll be getting this album. Nothing revolutionary, just very good songs.

I love the coverage they're getting these days

They've earned it!

Well weapon.

They're absolutely quality!! I'm looking forward to the Leeds date with Kid Harpoon!

Who is David?

Haven't they already done a song claiming that David is a moron? Now they're offering him strange fruit, so does that mean they want to hang him from a tree..?

Singing...

"David is a monster" :-D

*Chanting

that should be.

Ballboy & The Mountain Goats

Before seeing The Waves, supporting Hayman a couple of weeks back, my fave bands were BB and TMG. Then I discovered the Wave Pics and then there were 3 - and THEN I discovered links between The Wave Pics and my other fave bands... Can't wait till Thursday (24/4) when I shall be venturing out alone (no one is available) to see the Waves at the Luminaire. I never, ever, ever go to gigs alone which I think prooves just how absolutely Brilliant I think the Wave Pictures are. Can't wait... x
