Cooper Temple Chart Takeover

Just had a rather excited Cooper Temple Clause fan on the phone and it would seem, amongst the wooooops and yeeeeeaaaaahs that the band charted at number 15 in the first day of UK single chart sales yesterday with their double a-side rock-beast 'Film Maker / Been Training Dogs' single. How brillant would it be if the band, as a british left-field rock band, were to wriggle their way into the top10? No-one would expect it. It would be a stab at pop-world, wouldn't it? Yeah, I know Marilyn Manson and Papa Parkzit can all do it but when was the last time a band without the American millions to mould and play the media or years and years of releasing albums did it? We had an article aaaaages ago about this, have a read here and play your part if you havent already done so.

You can catch The Cooper Temple Clause on the road with Biffy Clyro(anyone seen the small print on their tour ad? huzzah!) or Easworld in support from Newcastle onwards.

Cooper Temple Chart Takeover

Sorry to spoil the fun, but Indie/Rock releases drop 4 or 5 places through the week. So it'll be lucky if it stays Top 20.

Re: Cooper Temple Chart Takeover

not if people keep buying it, it wont.

Re: Cooper Temple Chart Takeover

Yeah, but the majority of people likely to buy it will have done so on Monday, being clued up on music and release dates and such, whereas someone like Allstars are more likely to get bought by parents on Saturday who think "Ooh, bright colours! My kids will love this!" or something like that...
It's how the charts work anyway.

Re: Cooper Temple Chart Takeover

Allstars have a single out? Woohoo. What was the subject again.

Cooper Temple Chart Takeover

Yawn...

Stop putting up with this shite.

Re: Cooper Temple Chart Takeover

Yeah, Cooper Temple Clause are fucking awful. All image and no music.

Re: Cooper Temple Chart Takeover

Booooolarks!

"all image"? yeah, they have scruffy hair and probably arent hard on the eyes of many a girl.

"no music"? despite the fact that makes no sense, I catch yer drift but totally disagree. The albums one of the best things I've heard in ages (along with the Biffy Clyro, Clinic, Planes Mistaken for Stars and Kinesis albums), it's really sinister, coherent, tense and generally complete from noise to subtle piano through to the mangled aphex twin bits and the huuuuge verve-like anthem close.

One word: FOOL. yeah you!

Re: Cooper Temple Chart Takeover

What you've said is generally true, but in this case it's actually risen a place from Monday to Tuesday (although the counting methods could be different).

Re: Cooper Temple Chart Takeover - the midweeks!

It's a disgrace of Cooper Shitter Clause go Top 20. No Music and all image. A truely awful awful band. But then DiS supports Truman's Water and Miss Black America so I can see why they endorse more shit.

Re: Cooper Temple Chart Takeover

You come across as a smug, arrogant, unlikable person. And you like shit music too. You always talk down to people to anyone who disagrees with your views. Fuck you.

er...........

have you heard Trumans Water?

MBA and TCTC are two of the very last bands i'd comparitively mention them in the same breath as. not for a start because the former two are a pile of cock............

hmm

Re: er...........

I actually have 'Fragments of a Lucky Break' by Truman's Water. Bought on a recommendation from a mate. It's perhaps the worse thing I've ever heard. Thats why I now don't take any recommendations from DiS about bands, cause they all suck, and only mainly come on here to see the updated news.

Re: er...........

If DiS recommended more of the likes of Truman's Water and less of the likes of CooperTemple-Clause, it would verily be better. What, so /every/ band this site praises sucks? YEt you come to read the news on, ummmmm, the bands they cover? Or are you just being deliberately awkward sir?

Re: er...........

I come on here to find out news about stuff I'm interested in, e.g: The new Trail of Dead album details, Will Haven tour dates, Sonic Youth albums being reissued, I even heard about Jon Lee's death on here first. DiS don't cover these bands in-depth, but they report news about bands from all over the globe. However the bands they concentrate covering on with interviews, reviews, etc, I think all suck.

I also hate the way that Sean Adams tries to convince everyone that the bands he likes HAVE to be amazing, and if anyone doesn't like them, then there's something wrong with them. That is extremley patronising and makes this website not as half as good as it should be or could be.

Re: Cooper Temple Chart Takeover

planes mistaken for stars ARE NOT SHIT. fuckin genius!!!!!!
