freaked me out just then
oh fucking hell
£20 to get into the rhythm factory
what a fucking cunt
Does anyone still care about this man?
Even the most bored of 14 year old girls from villages on the outskirts of Hemel Hempstead must have moved on by now, surely?
he's playing a solo acoustic show
at le Grand Rex in Paris. 30 to 50 €...
And Babyshambles played a sold out Zenith ( 6000 capacity ) a few days ago...
This world is crazy...
christ
can't imagine how depressing it must be to want to pay £20 to go to the Rhythm Factory to see Doherty play.
It's a ridiculous price - why is it never mentioned that he completely exploits his fans?
people are
paying £20 to see doherty, not to go to the rhythm factory,
and to be fair to the price, i'm pretty sure any artist as popular as he is would charge at least that,
(even if you hate him, he's still popular),
and it's commendable that he still bothers playing small venues, even if it is expensive,
and a lot of doherty fans would rather pay £20 for a rhythm factory show than a wembley arena show, which would be all bad acoustics, seated areas and middle-aged people,
instead they want sweat, whitechapel, and a 'spiritual home' kind of vibe,
knowhaimean?
Royal Albert Hall
He is also playing a solo show at the Royal Albert Hall in April. I wonder how the security will keep seated his die-hard fans!

to be honest
these secret / low-key and short-notice but incredibly expensive gigs always seem to me as if he's skint and needs money quickly to buy some crack / smack. If he was really into keeping it real he'd do it for a fiver. I'm 95% sure I'm right.
20 quid does seem to be on the high side.
The last time he played the venue (just b4 Xmas) he flaked out, left the stage and sauntered through a backdoor after 15mins never to return. Furtermore if my memory serves me correctly it was £12 entrance.
8pm-2am
will mean, hmmmm, he may turn up at 1.30.
GAk/bored youth are one of those promoters that put five bands on a night and 'let' you play for 20 mins, or 25 if you bring enough people... will they do the same to doherty? :D
but so what?
some people do it for food and mortgages and kids,
he does it for smack,
each to their own, oui?
it was 2:30 last time
(goes back into hiding)
Support
I have seen Slummin Angels who are supporting him the first night...there pretty good!...maybe even worth the 20 quid if he doesn't turn up lol!
misconceptions
last time Pete turned up by midnight every night. the latest he went on stage any night was 00:45. if you got a ticket for £12 u were very lucky. face value was £20. £25 on the door. Pete has NEVER failed to show in 20+ gigs booked at Rhythm Factory. Gak/BYOP do indeed put 5 bands on for 20-25 mins - AmyBlue seemed very happy to accept these terms on both occasions they played here. We think 25 mins is adequate for any new band. we don't want to risk boring our crowd with over-long sets. these nights were already booked up before Pete confirmed. of course he won't be playing for this amount of time. he's been known to play for 2-3 hours at these shows. yes he did get sick half way thru the last Babyshambles show. this was unfortunate,
and the only occasion we can remember this happening over these 20+ appearances. he was proper ill though.
