WIN! A Christmas card from Bloc Party
- Artists:
- Bloc Party »
Modern messiahs of tightly-syncopated misery Bloc Party are getting in the Christmas spirit, sitting down round a table, and penning their Christmas cards. Guess what? You’re on their list.
Or at least you could be – win this competition and a personal message from the band could be adorning your mantelpiece, gazing out as your mum screams at the family pet for pissing under the fridge and ruining Christmas dinner. Again.
Riddle: what have you done this year to deserve this prize? Answers below.
You can also send the card, sans personal message of course, to a friend if you have a BlackBerry. Visit the-b-card.com to find Bloc Party’s design. Or else, see below…

Not to sound too much like a materialist but I bought everything they released (vinyl too).
Not to sound too much like a sycophant but I've been a member of the Pioneers since the beginning.
Not to sound like a bleeding heart emo-kid but I put together a compilation of this year's 11 b-sides, and titled it Lightsources, and made artwork for it.
Not to sound like an obsessive but I remixed 'Hunting for Witches'.
I just continued to love these guys this year, and I can't wait to see what they come out with in '08. New EP? Weekend in the City remix LP? Christmas Card?
^
chillout.
i would like the card
because i *heart* bloc party and i think it would make me pretty happy this xmas.
i would say...
That i deserve to be sent the card, because on the 14th i went early like the fanboy i am to queue up at Ally Pally, and got attacked by some cool Norf Landan Yoofz, no joke, my public attack virginity was cruelly ripped away. Oh well, thennnnn I survived that, queued for around 4 hours and then, got stuck on the barrier in front of the biggest dick ever who repeatedly humped me, yes humped me,from behind, before he was gloriously swept away when The Prayer came on.
But yeah, and the 9th time i saw bloc party, and i was one of about 300 there who knew The Once And Future King
gotta add more
have every single track they ever made, that has been available, even Union/Angel Range tracks
ALSO , i have their 1st ever ever single, SHV on clear 7'' signed by all 4 members of the band, by waiting in the January cold in Southampton
but yeah, also been a member of MARSHALS (marshals came before pioneers mate up there)
alsooooo, i have seen them in New York and New Jersey, how hardcore is that?
i deserve it...
...for liking bloc party a lot.
and for seeing them 5 times this year.
i have all their songs too.
but you might as well give it to one of the people above me...
Tried to be heroic in an age of modernity
Prize please
well
i'd like to have that card because i'm tired of explaining to people how to spell bloc party. then finally i can stop people from saying "are they a local band playing at the block party around the corner?"
and...
I made an old man happy by buying him a bottle of malt whisky. Oh and I quite liked Flux.
The first time I saw Bloc Party
some crowd surfing brute smashed my glasses! I kinda figure they owe me. Matt can empathise, surely?
Oh and when I asked for Silent Alarm for my birthday one year my mum thought it was a compilation you played at 'street parties'. It sounds like a bad joke but seriously, she refused to get it because she thought I'd go terrorising local grannies with it playing on a boombox or something. This card would clear up alot.
I would like the card
it would be quite nice to look at for a bit.
