Lodestar Festival: Cancelled *updated*
Lodestar, the Cambridgeshire festival that was set to take place from 31st August to 2nd September, has been cancelled.
Festival Director Doug Durrant released this statement:
"We have had a long hard look at the situation and rather than mess people around we have decided that we need to call it a day for this year. It is a real shame but we feel that by stopping now we can ensure that festival goers and all the wonderful people involved are not left high and dry.
"We hope you can appreciate how hard it has been to take this decision. Your support as a member of the press has meant so much to us and all coverage given to the festival has been greatly appreciated. Thank you for all your encouragement and positivity. We look forward to speaking with you further about this situation and our future plans."

it was always going to end in tragedy.
how many new festivals have sprouted in the last two years or so? about twenty-odd, it seems.
pretty sure its been cancelled
at least all the cambridge-musicy insiders seem to think so.
^ exactly this
There simply isn't enough room for all of these events, whether people like it or not. Every weekend there seems to be something new going on.
Too many festivals
now.
If each one had significantly different line-ups it wouldn't be too bad but some bands seem to be on a three month festival tour as the same names crop up everywhere.
bargain.
it was a bargain of a festival line up.
plenty of pretty small bands and all for £88?
i would have been there.
but i was relying on poor ticket sales and gracious touts.
but there are kind of one too many festivals.
alas.
