London-based electro-indie-poppers Chow Chow have assured fans that they are still going to release their EP/mini-album, Colours & Lines, next month.
The band's singer, Thomas Iain Smith, died in June - a condolences page can be found here.
A message was sent out via MySpace along the lines of this:
Hey guys,
Stu and I would just like to say thanks a lot to all those people who have sent messages to us here or on the condolences page. It’s been a extremely hard and surreal month for many of us, and the messages have helped.
After speaking with Iain’s parents and Fantastic Plastic we all agreed that the mini album had to come out, so it is…
Colours And Lines is out on the 6th of August. I got a copy yesterday, it’s lovely.
We’ve been getting some good reviews in the press also, which is great, it’s quite odd reading them, I feel kinda happy and sad at the same time.
So if you're interested have a listen, see what you think… But when you listen to it, it should be turned up loud and you should jump around…perhaps screaming “Ice The Cake!!!” at the same time. (Just a thought.)
To those of you who knew Iain, we are planning a party with some bands/DJs and maybe Jaffa Cakes. Details are to come; it will be a great celebration of a great guy...
Losta love, Nathan
