Secret Furry Animals Lounge on the Farm

'Boutique festival'...is that a term in common parlance? Why, I wasn't aware such a term existed! How marvellous.

"Legendary rock stars Super Furry Animals have announced they are playing a headline slot at this summer's most exclusive boutique festival..."

There's more than one!

"...Lounge On the Farm to an intimate crowd of 2000, their smallest gig in 5 years."

That sounds alright, dunnit? Apparently The Bees have just been confirmed too. The Welsh 'rock stars' were formerly the festival's secret headliners. Now it's about as secret as a secret gig, because DiS has told y'all! Fancy.

Who else is playing? Check below:

Alabama 3
The Noisettes
Wild Billy Childish & The Musicians Of The British Empire
The Dub Pistols
Kitty, Daisy & Lewis
Circulus
Los Del Abajo
Foreign Beggars
Example
DJ Andy Smith
Justin Robertson
Underground Heroes
Fanfarlo
Ripchord
The Moths
The Draytones
Dr Rubberfunk
Lord Large
J*Star
The Dualers
Super Imposers
Sportsday Megaphone
The Beep Seals
Motion Pictures
The Metros
Sonny Jim
Porpoise Corpus

There are a tonne more bands, but they're names are formatted differently here, so I take it those above are the 'main' acts.

Lounge on the Farm takes place over three days in the hills of Canterbury; from 13-15th of July. That's next weekend, so hurry up if you want tickets - get them here; £45 if you're an adult looking to spend the weekend, £20 the day; kids go half price. Family tickets are also available, click the link for details.

I was

very tempted. Sadly it's just not worth it for SFA alone

exactly

Canterbury is a lovely place though.

I'm going to see The Bees

Bugger SFA

cheeky

it doesn't surprise me

they played The Bees on Sarah Kennedy this morning

Instead..

come to Wye Fayre (www.wyefayre.co.uk) - it has none of those bands nor is it in Canterbury but it is a music festival and this weekend.

God i'm good at plugging.

The Bees

Are brill

So is

Sarah Kennedy

sounds great for the children

but I don't know any of these bands

am I missing something?

Are they saying that this is the Furries smallest gig in five years? They played to just over a couple of hundred people in Clwb Ifor Bach the other week.

exactly.

i know it was packed, but there definitely wasn't more than 2,000 people there.

And the ICA

a couple of weeks back. That has a max capacity of 350.

The damn fool

Im assuming from your comment that you prefer the bees to SFA...if that is the case I can only assume three things: A) You have never heard the bees B) You have never heard SFA C) You have never heard of neither the bees of SFA

I love lamp

Welcome to DIS

...where people harp on about mediocre 6th form pub bands like they're the next Floyd

Really don't know why I still read this site

Secret?

Saw a poster up today on a nearby fence with SFA on it advertising the festival.

the Bees

are the worst kind of dull, pointless, noodly sub-hippy uber-toss that monwey can buy

on

toast
