Editors: too loud for Germans

Brummie miserablists Editors had their Wednesday night show in Cologne, Germany, halted by police who claimed that the band were too loud.
The indie-rockers - whose second album, An End Has A Start, is released on June 25 - were performing their encore when police entered the venue - the Kulturkirche, an old church - and told them that their set was bothering nearby neighbours.
Bassist Russell Leetch told NME: "The first we knew about it was when the police turned up just as we were starting our encore and told our tour manager to stop the set."
Sausages!

Editors :
too shit for frenchmen.
ive seen Editors
3 times live, twice as a support act and once at a festival.
They are such a mundane, boring band.
I just cant get into their bland and monotanous music, and clearly, zee German police cant either.
i loathe them purely because
they got uppitty at a journalist comparing them to interpol, and then claimed that they were nothing alike because interpol are a band "devoid of ideas and melody" or something along those lines. isnt the lead singer of this shower doing edith bowman?
oh the irony
as i was reading this my last fm radio player went from Pavement to All Sparks by this lot.
I quite like Editors, nerr.
What does
loudness actually have to do with the band?
Shouldn't the venue have just turned the PA down?
so do I.
They're great live.
fucking losers who start bashing bands after 1st album
go and listen your local shit bands. editors always been brilliant.
...?
/\
what? ok then ....im from birmingham and saw this sorry lot a few times play "locally" so i guess i did....
fucking indie by numbers bullshit
Yes, Editors are brilliant
The second album is stupendous, if they become one of the biggest bands of the year its only because they deserve to.
Editors...
are fucking atrocious.
Editors...
are like Interpol with tunes.
gosh
opinion is split over Editors.
I like them but prefer Interpol.
Yup
Agree with the 'Interpol with tunes' comment. I think the 1st album is excellent, but am a bit worried about the singer mentioning the word 'Coldplay' in the same sentence as 'our 2nd album'
I've always found
Interpol much more tuneful and human than editors. the backroom portrayed them as robotic nazis, TOTBL and Antics made interpol the sexiest band ever
she went down down down into the sea
she went down down down there, down there for me
right on, so good
obviously about blowjobs
I hate
their really banal observations that they seem to think are profound. I find their new song pretty embarrassing. I didn't think Coldplay had any ideas to steal but these lot are obviously keener listeners than I.
I'm Liking Editors...
... At the moment. I'm always like this with bands I used to love when they're releasing new stuff, though. New album could well be crap, so... yeah. Either way, in my honest opinion, Interpol are much, much better.
And, While I'm on the Topic...
... I can't wait for "Our Love to Admire"! ^_^ !
I still find it hilarious
that people compare Interpol and Editors. To even put Editors on the same footing as Interpol is ridiculous.
Editors are the new Cold Patrol, i.e. boring as shit indie by numbers. It doesn't help that their lead singer possesses the most insipid, uninspiring, morose voice ever.
Interpol are one of the best live bands on the planet and are consistent with their impressive output. If Editors ever come close to making anything even nearing the greatness of Turn on the Bright Lights I will eat my words but I am certain this will never happen.
our love to admire
is rubbish, boring and tedious, easily the weakest interpol record.
the single's alright mind.
editors new one is very good
Argh, Don't Say That...
... About Interpol! At least let me anticipate it first, yeah? : P . As for the new Editors album, I've heard it is indeed very good. But that was from the same guy who gave Bloc Party's "A Weekend in the City" 5/5. And compared it to "OK Computer" or something. Well, I can only wait and see for myself.
Who...
...are Interpol anyway? Never heard of them. *googleing Interpol....... checking em out on youtube.....* oh my, what a crock of sh*t!
could never see what the fuss was about
in either editors or interpol. they're only similar in the sense that they make no significant impression.
the thing is
interpol's sound is a very acquired taste. turn on the bright lights is one of my favourite lp's ever. but it's not for everyone. saying that though they have a huge and devoted fanbase.
the two bands are incomparable. editors are self-assured to the point of pretentious and try to come across pseudo-philosophical and still have mainstream exposure, whereas interpol's songs have much more emotion, darkness and humility. (leif erikson, untitled, nyc). even if a lot of bank's lyrics could easily be straight out of a humphrey bogart film.
An End Has A Start
is a terrific song, the rest of the record is so so, but still much better than Our Love To Admire.
really enjoyed
editors first album, have heard a few tracks off the new one and really wish the guitarist would change his f*cking settings. he's been playing the same guitar part for far too long.
There's no way they're better than interpol.
