The Strokes to take a break; four-fingered chocolate snacks reported stolen from NYC corner shops

The Strokes have announced via MySpace that they are to take most of this year off, and that their currently down website, thestrokes.com, will relaunch next week.
Says said post, probably not penned by a band member:
TheStrokes.com is offline while it goes under construction and will return with a brand new design. The message boards are still available to access. The website will return on May 29th.
The band are still enjoying some much needed 'off time'. I wouldn't expect anything to come out this year.
In the meantime, they are staying busy pursuing some other personal interests and are busy working/writing/rehearsing and all those things bands do in between albums. But, there are no immediate plans to release an album or tour for the time being.
Okay then. Thanks.

Modey Lemon and Roland Shanks for Club Seal this Friday!
I hope they get some focus
The last album was crap.
I've got nothing to say.
I've got nothing to say
I've got nothing to say
I've got nothing to say
I've got nothing to say
I've got nothing to say
.....
even tho the albums have got worse with every attempt,
i think each single is an improvement on the last.
they really are lazy
they barely ever tour over here
they only record one bside per album
albums take aaaaaaggges to come out
oh well
Now then Mr Diver!
that was more like it as a headline...
That's
what I was thinking - and I thought they already were taking a break given how little touring they've done recently.
file under...
.....Bands about to split up.
They didn't survive the hype I guess
Spot on.
The albums are obeying the law of diminishing returns to the letter. But they still manage a killer single which convinces me to give the album a listen.
At least in the age of downloading you're not left with a turkey that the second hand CD shops even refuse to take.
Longwave are so much better
than these bunch of trip buster fools.
Fave band.
Although FIOE was shoddy to say the least.
The Strokes
Make me feel as if I've had one.
boom boom
Get Out!
