Rilo Kiley will release their new album through Brute/Beaute and Warners on August 20.
The follow-up to 2005's More Adventurous, Under The Blacklight comes with production from Jason Lader (Maroon 5... ooooh) and was recorded at the same studio as Pet Sounds, Sunset Sound.
The band are expected to play a series of dates in Europe in August, and will be appearing at a number of festivals this side of the Atlantic. More details when we have them.

you could have read this last week on pitchfork... good to see DiS ontop of the news.
god
help us. what a bunch of bores
whoah - bores
saw them support Bright Eyes at the Wulfrun a couple of years back, when asking my girlfriend of the time what she thought of the night, she commented that after seeing Rilo Kiley, Bright Eyes were pretty dull, dark and moody, with RK being fresh, happy, and a dose of sunshine fun on a dismal wolverhampton night. I agreed with her completely.
Last week DiS's email and internet died.
We are playing catch up.
Sorry for any delay in bringing news to you, the readers.

in 2005 is one of my favourite gigs - hope they're not too big to play there again.
ah right
fari enough i guess that means you couldn't read pitchfork to do your news.
well
y'see, some bands are newsworthy and they have press officers who send out press news.
not everyone reads both sites.
i don't read pitchfork so i didn't know about it.
tis that simple.
the execution of all things
sorry for being pathetically behind on their discography, but that is an awesome tune. But does she sing 'the bears in the air' at one point or am I deaf as well as slow?
.
well you should do its pretty good.
it's like this site without the sarcasm and bumlicking
Execution album
One of my favourites. I hope the new one is a bit less like More Adventurous (too polished) and more like Execution.
Not quite sure of the lyrics, but it is something about bears I think.
March 13th 2005,
if I remember correctly. It was a chilly Sunday night.
I fainted. Twice.
That was fun.
its
lets start with the bears and the air... the execution of all things...
wonderful album.
just to warn you all...
this is way more like more adventurous and way less like execution. it's really, really over produced, super polished, very much the sound of a band who don't actually care about anything much other than being famous.
:(
i'll add them to the list then...
