A new one-day festival, to be held in London's Victoria Park, has been announced.
Field Day is scheduled for August 11 and is the brainchild of an assortment of hip promoter sorts, including Eat Your Own Ears, Bugged Out and Adventures In The Beetroot Field. Among the acts confirmed so far are:
1990’s, Absentee, Adem, Andrew Weatherall, Archie Bronson Outfit, Battles (pictured), Bat For Lashes, Ben Fat Trucker, Boys Noize, Caribou, Electrelane, Erol Alkan, Fence Collective presents 3 Craws, Foals, Four Tet, Fridge, James Yorkston, Jo Jo De freq, Metronomy, Pull Tiger Tail, The Aliens, The Earlies
Says EYOE's Tom Baker of the event:
"We wanted to create an event that had a really strong but somewhat different line up to other festivals, something that has a European feeling where new exciting rock bands play alongside electronic acts and also include more diverse and leftfield acts."
Tickets are priced at a very reasonable £22.50 and go on sale tomorrow from 9am from all good retailers of such things. Ticketweb.co.uk, for example. For further information click the links below.

Field Day
I didn't get to go but I read a post mortem for the event (here: http://www.spoonfed.co.uk/spooners/domzig-172/field-day-409/) and it sounded like it was just miserable. I can't even imagine it being enjoyable even with such an amazing lineup. Did anyone have a good time??
