Thousands of Reading & Leeds tickets cancelled
Thousands of would-be ticket-holders for this summer's Carling Weekend, held in Reading and Leeds, have been told that their tickets have been cancelled.
Tickets to the twin-site event - held at the end of August and headlined by Smashing Pumpkins, Razorlight and Red Hot Chili Peppers - sold out within hours of going on sale on Monday, but now many fans have been told that credit card processing problems have meant that some 3,000 'buyers' haven't bought anything.
Some 1,100 Leeds 'attendees' have been affected, reports the BBC, while 2,000 Reading hopefuls will now miss out.
The reason's a simple one: seems those making the purchases had no money. Says Mean Fiddler's Melvyn Benn:
"Cards were rejected either because their numbers were inputted incorrectly or they did not have sufficient funds. The sad thing it they got a confirmation and then relaxed and it wasn't until the next morning they were told there was a problem, by which time the weekend tickets were gone."

Boo.
:(
no sympathy
for anyone willing to pay to go to a festival that deems razorshite a decent act to headline.
But also
has a lot of good bands.
I have no intention of seeing Razorlight.
Hahahaa.
pwnt. I hope all the cunts in my town had this problem.
lol?
you have no money!
they had time to try again...
from BBC:
eading/Leeds ticket update
Weekend tickets for both festivals are now sold out. Fans who received confirmation and cancellation emails are urged to reapply to See Tickets on 0870 0603 775 quoting their original reference. You've got until 7.30pm today to try again.
Well if...
Its due to not having funds then errr right okay thats stupid and typing in wrong card number, yes it shouldnt of confirmed them but ya know double check before u push confirm.
from
what i saw the onl bands i would go to see would be nin and smashing pumpkins, because they are the smashing pumkins, apart from that didnt see that many i though i had to see
hurmm
alot of people i know didn't even get confirmation.. including me, so we've all been worrying.
its only now that the money has been taken from my account and see tickets lets you get a reference number from their site, that i can relax.
and in regards to headliners I don't really go to the main stage much, most the bands i like play on smaller stages.
I was told I had insufficient funds
which is wrong.
And only got the mail today. I'd ordered another one through NME.com which worked though, still, pretty shit.
because
what has been announced so far is the TOTAL LINEUP YES IT IS
Well
Insufficient funds - that's what happens. Mistyping the card number? They were able to turn around resales quicker than they could tell people to try again? That's not good. Makes me worry about Glastonbury...
lol
if you can't afford it, that's tough you cheap fucks.
in an ideal world
the 3100 who missed out would be twats who were planning to tout them on ebay
...
or already put them them onto ebay
Actually
That would mean some poor soul has paid a small fortune AND not got the tickets
I've not got a confirmation
email yet.
Hmm.
me
either.
If you haven't got the money, don't buy the tickets
I hate these credit wankers.
neither have I...
but they sure have drawn the money from my account though. No delays there.
^^^
guntrip does the work so we don't have to. :D
Me neither
...
Fucking Idiots
If you dont have enough funds in your account to pay for the tickets, how can you expect to get a ticket?
Its nor fucking rocket science is it?
I should have had enough
I need to get the email account which was used checked.
The money has came out of my account though. And the money my mates transferred in had cleared too.
I'm worrying but it should be fine.
I have a limit of several thousand
on the credit card I used.
and I am certain I entered in the details correctly
I had to get Cera to order mine
with my card details.
I have the confirmation details which she forwarded to me from her email account.
I really need to get her to a computer in the very near future.
HMV
is a way more easier method of getting a ticket, at least you actually get it.
i've got a confirmation email
check your junk. if that doesn't work then:
https://www.wayahead-secure.co.uk/see/content_get_reference.asp
use that link to get your confirmation number.
but
have they been relased? I couldn't find a line up for the smaller stages on the main website (oh and if you reply please pm me as I can't veiw anything below this reply due to swearing and being in F*ing boarding)
If
you haven't received a confirmation email, just call the site and ask them to confirm it for you. I did that with seetickets, and they even gave me my confirmation number as well.
*sigh*
Okay due to saftey net (i'm in school) features and me havving to click stop this should be lower, but I can't seem to do it in time. But if thats the line up, in all my years of not going (all my 16 years of not going) then I'm, glad i'm not going this year, funnily enough this is also the first year I can go.
I appear to have been one of the unlucky ones
Despite having enough money in my account, the bank refused payment.
Now my mate has had to book us weekend with coach journey tickets, which is an extra £25 or something.
Robbing bastards.
