Babyshambles will tour massive venues in the Winter.
Babyshambles. Winter. Way to depress me on a Friday evening, newswire!
Anyway, Pete Doherty's band will play eight dates altogether, at arenas across the land. Tickets go on sale next Thursday (22 Mar) and prices vary from town to town.
Details follow:
November
22 Manchester MEN Arena
23 Newcastle Metro Radio Arena
25 Brighton Centre
26 Bournemouth International Centre
27 London Wembley Arena
28 Birmingham NIA
30 Nottingham Arena
December
1 Glasgow SECC
Hopefully the band will have written some new material by then. Or, more accurately, hopefully this'll be a Libs reformation tour by then.
- Lame Doch: Pete Doherty sings Nazi anthem, offends Germans, hauled off stage
- Babyshambles: Afrobeat
- The Raconteurs, Beck and M.I.A. among new Hove additions
- Pete Doherty sent to prison for breaking the law
- No alarms, no surprises, no Radiohead: Reading / Leeds line-up announced
- Doherty, drugs, children: must be a Channel 4 show
- Doherty triple-header: Babyshambles man plots threesome with Rhythm Factory
- Prince and Britney, blood and breasts: A Year in News
holy fuck.
they'll never fill those will they?
No way.
They do seem to be a little optimistic.
I wouldn't expect them to fill arenas
Still, you never know just how many Doherty obsessives there are out there.
hillarity
The backlash when they have to reinburse all those thousands of people when those shows get cancelled because Pete's off getting jaiked somewhere is going to be quite something.
This
is just plain crazy.
Hmm.
That's a long way away. Worried about selling tickets me thinks...
libertines
....
...
you heard it hear first
...
actually second
IF
they do fill them that will be alot of drug money raised, should keep him off the streets for a week or two.
Prediction..
These gigs will be downgraded to small cupboards.
LOL
Babyshambles are a great live band in a little venue but no way can they play Wembley.
Plus the tickets go on sale in March for gigs in November!
This is because none of the crackheads can get a bank loan.
hm
i didn't think they could fill arenas either
Didn't sell out
the Rescue Rooms last time out in Nottingham so why they think they'll sell out a venue ten times the size is beyond me.
The sound of hysterical laughter..
is rolling across the airwaves. Hubris is a marvellous thing, especially when done live by Sloppyshambles. I take enormous joy slagging off Doperty, but on this occasion, I need to stand back and wonder if his life can become any more of a cliche.
Okay, okay, the aurally disfunctional hoards will quickly pipe up about how Pete's a legend and will fill these venues, but even by the lowest musical standards, isn't it fair to say that this bloke hasn't released any striking music since 2004?
Isn't it time he was on Eurovision?
Also, could someone talk to him about that hat? It wasn't hip and bohemian the first time he wore it, and it's got a lot more tired every time since.
He's in the Sun more often than Girls Aloud. I suspect that Simon Howell manages him but no-one knows.
