Primavera Sound(s good): further bands confirmed for Barcelona festival
Further acts have been confirmed for this year's three-day Primavera Sound festival, held in Barcelona from May 31 'til June 2.
Sonic Youth (pictured) are to play their Daydream Nation album, a la their pair of dates in London, at the festival, and Black Mountain are also confirmed.
Also announced are Shannon Wright, The Apples In Stereo and a selection of Spanish bands including Veracruz and Ginferno. Us neither, but we'll be there to check 'em out.
For full line-up and ticket details click your way to the official Primavera website, here. It's a brilliant bill so far (click here for your proof), with many a DiS favourite due to appear. More bands will be confirmed in the coming weeks.
Hopefully we'll be seeing some of you there!

All we need now...
...is for Les Savy Fav to play and my perfect line-up* is complete....
*I'm assuming a Pavement reunion isn't going to happen.
too scared
of the big flopping penis
I wish, I wish
I was going to this
havent heard it
but there's a lot of overlap between the two festivals already, ATP are involved in primavera, they're a very ATP band and there's already an elephant six band playing ATP. seems pretty likely they might be picked by barry?
black mountain
*dribbles*
where did you hear that of montreal were playin.... i hope its true.
oops
i meant atp there of course. they better be doing primavera now or all that logic above will be for nothing.
Of Montreal..
..are rumoured to be playing the sunday night closing party.
i'm confused
wut is elephant six? is this something to do with Of Montreal that i should know about? all i know is that i fucking LOVE Hissing Fauna
- ok i just looked at their profile, so this elephant 6 thing is a collective - ok.
BUT what elephant 6 bands are playing ATP? how many members of Of Montreal is that? How likely is it they will play??? etc etc
how many
bands are gonna clash ? is my question
fantastic news
i seriously can't wait now. is that it, though? and does anyone know if any of these spanish bands are any good?
if les savy fav were on the bill
i would be moved to tears of joy.

Sunday Lineup
...will be announced tomorrow.
if my exams dont fuck this up
i am actually there.
durutti column.
spanish bands
You can get links to music of all the bands from the Primavera myspace: www.myspace.com/primaverasound
As for the spanish bands, recommended listening are Lisabö, a vasque band that could very well be in dischord ( http://www.myspace.com/lisaboezlekuak ).
On the other hand 6pm is a duo very much in the Notwist or Hood vein, essential listening (www.myspace.com/sixpostmorning ). Finally Mús and Standstill are worth giving a chance.
Of Montreal
Line-up for Sunday @ Nitsa (closing party):

THE ORCHIDS

Aw no Surfin Bichos!
I saw them last summer there. Manel Roig told me they were a legend and I didn't believe him until I drank a half bottle of vodka. Then I saw the light!!
