News: watch Bloc Party do things

Bloc Party are going to be all over Channel 4 like a sexy yet reticent rash in the build up to the release of new album A Weekend In The City.

In the week prior to it hitting the shelves (starting Sunday 28th January) the channel will broadcast a performance of one album track per day, from Sunday to Thursday. Fans will be asked to vote for their favourite of these tracks.

Then, on the eve of the album's release, Channel 4 will broadcast a special 4Music show which will feature the four tracks that fared best in the voting as well as one of the group's old hits.

Elsewhere, a 'Making of...' video for the band's latest single 'The Prayer' is available to view via iCast. Click here to subscribe through iTunes.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Why would anyone want to know how 'The Prayer' video was made? Its a bunch of people sitting in a club.

I'm more interested as to when Bloc Party are gonna call it a day. They're dull as death.

zzzzzz@

you

lolz

You might be right..

..apart from a couple of tracks, A Weekend In The City is most dissapointing.

IT'S SHITE

Total shite.

i agree

it's gone mega-earnest and gay.

the northern line is the loudest - what a rubbish rubbish lyric. seriously sucks big cock.

literally in the gay one's case.

WOW

which of them is gay?!

the bassist

you can see it in his gay little eyes

I love Bloc Party

bum off all yous.

I know I'll be in a minority here but I actually think their new album is better than Silent Alarm. It's not perfect (where'd the anger go, Kele?) but the slow songs are just soo lovely that the album as a whole is superb.

A definite progression. And I'd love to hear more tracks like The Prayer.

Kelly

gay.

The new album is

Cracking, full of good stuff. Progression is never a bad thing.

everything thinks he's gay becaus of that obeserver piece

but my friend (who is girl) went out with kele for 2 yrs until a year ago. she said he might have fooled around with boys before, but he wasnt gay. he didnt say he was gay in in the observer, just that one of the new songs was about a gay experience. im not sure that he would care though...he wasnt very nice to her. he couldnt keep it in his pants apparently

who should we be excited about then wrighty?

the klaxons? the view? why dont u just go off and die you ugly townie

I thought he was bisexual from that piece

And yer, production of the new album sounds iffy, and his lyrics are really disappointing. No one should ever use "sudoku" in a song ever ever ever.
