Hold Steady: Yanks land in Blighty for tour and album

Hotly-tipped barroom rockers The Hold Steady have announced details of a February tour to support the UK release of album Boys and Girls in America.

The 'tour' will include six dates, though admittedly the band will be in the capital for four of those. Where? Here:

February
13 Manchester Jabez Clegg
14 Glasgow Cathouse
15 London Hoxton Bar And Grill
16 London Camden Koko (Club NME)
17 London Borderline
18 London Borderline

The album, which has been out since October in the States, will be on shelves here from Monday (January 15).

are mad about this lot. I dont get it.

Some really good songs on the album

and some not so good.
A bit meh for a while, then a bit WOW, then a bit meh again.

I saw them when I was in the states

I thought they were very average live, but sound a little better on record.

The way they're

written about you kind of expect fabulousness (?), but when I actually heard their songs it all just seemed...very average. Neither bad nor good.

what they said ^

this lot

are fucking rubbish

They're not

being very ambitious are they - Borderline is about 200 capacity or less... don't know their stuff particularly but they've had enough hype that they could probably fill bigger venues just through curiosity factor surely.

The album is hit and miss

Half is great, half is average

Great songs: Stuck Between Stations, Chips Ahoy, First Night, Massive Night, Citrus, Chillout Tent

IS THAT

a disism? if so, ISU,E

First Night

easily the standout on the first few listens.

saw them

support les savy fav in islington once and they were quite fun

I was there too

and yes, quite fun.

Not as much fun as the Fav, obviously.
Brown leotard, hand in pants.

The new album is cracking

But the first album is better.

Can't wait to see this lot.

no

it's a venue capacity. well done for trying though.

Hmmm

Agree with person above who said they were 'very Borderline'. Accurate on the venue front, but I have to say I also think they are very borderline - borderline boring old farts.
Did somebody say Pub Rock Revival??

i see

ta

venue change

the Manchester date has been upgraded to Club Academy

extra tickets just put on sale
