Revealed: Myths of the Near Future

Klaxons have confirmed the tracklisting for their in-demand debut opus.

Myths of the Near Future, which is set for release on January 29th, will include all the band's singles to date - 'Gravity's Rainbow', 'Atlantis to Interzone', 'Magick' and newy 'Golden Skans'. The latter is out on the 22nd of this month.

Here's the full roll call:

'Two Receivers'
'Atlantis To Interzone'
'Golden Skans'
'Totem On The Timeline'
'As Above So Below'
'Isle Of Her'
'Gravity's Rainbow'
'Forgotten Works'
'Magick'
'It's Not Over Yet'
'Four Horsemen Of 2012 / (Untitled)'

New rave. It's all in the geometry.

Totem is ace, Four Horsemen brings the suck,

and I still worry that the best song will be Its Not Over Yet, which would be a little lame wouldn't it?

Can I be in Klaxons please?

Klaxons is my boyfriend.

....

i heard not over yet.... i thought it was going to be amazing.... i was underwhelmed

GET OUT

You probably heard the unmastered version. It's the best thing since sliced pills.

i hope this is good.

though, to be fair that 'new' one is growing on me. even though it still sounds like hardfi.

KLAXONS ARE GREAT.

that is all.

...

i heard it on you tube... yeah i imagine it was probably a crappy version as everyone else whos heard it said it was rather life altering

I think I own the original Olive single

which is sad isn't it?

Why do they have Four Horsemen as the last track on the album?!?!

I'm a fan of the four singles released thus far but that song is appalling and the fact that it ends the album is like rubbing salt into the wound.

I think the James Ford Session version

..if released would be a contender for number one in the charts.

I haven't heard the new one though.

I have listened to the whole album 3 times now... its great having friends with promos.

Ok to set things straight.

There is not one flaw in this album.

It has a healthy quota of album tracks as well as singles. This is important because I find that singles can be rather throwaway as they are aimed at everyone, however album tracks often end up as cherished favourites because they grow and bloom over time, like strange iridescent creeping Martian weed.

I can see at least two more tracks from this album appearing in the charts easily.

The lyrics are amazing. Even if they are mainly inspired by a certain genre of writers.

The production is excellent. The right mix between the powerful and the subtle.

As for the issue with the four horsemen track: It's necessary. I love that track because it appeals to my influence greatly. If it’s not your bag it doesn't mean its rubbish. It just means it's different from what you'd expect... which is a good thing.

The cover of "It's not over yet" is a brilliant cover... but try to remember... it's not the original track so try not to compare it. It's a very rare thing to find artists producing covers that are in fact better than the originals in any context. However this version does great justice to the album and deserves respect.

Ha.

Enjoy your queue on Monday in HMV... it is worth it trust me.
