Enter Shikari fans break ticket agency

Such is the huge buzz around the still unsigned, Astoria-headlining dance-rockers Enter Shikari that when they announced their new tourdates on Saturday, their fans broke Ticketmaster's servers.
The Hertforshire youngsters released details of headline shows in January and March through the popular Internet networking website MySpace.com. They promptly received news that the ticket links they had provided caused the ticket websites to dramatically implode.
The band were keen to point out that "ALL SHOWS ARE 14+" (apart from Preston which is 16+) which makes them underage kinda shindigs. That's proper HxC! Also, this is not the complete list of tourdates as they intend to add more shows. Maybe in the southwest. Maybe not.

Actually
I'm 100% sure that the date at Middlesbrough Cornerhouse won't be 14+, seeing as though SUMO is the biggest hardcore/metal/indie club night round here.
If it is I'll eat my hat...
i am still under the impression that these guys are ballbag
am i wrong? if not, what is wrong with the world?
worse things go on
than people liking crap bands.
yes
people making money from crap bands
Hammersmith Palais
is a big venue for an unsigned band to play isn't it. good on 'em tho.
what is wrong with the world?
nothing, kids are just idiots.
!
I actually like them, since I heard them last week that is, the single was a bit sh't but some of their other stuff is pretty awesome.
It was actually the funniest thing I saw last week when I saw them play Leicester, 14-16year olds trying to throw trance shapes and failing. Badly.
...
oh, the irony...
Leicester
It was a good gig however
Yeah
Kids shouldent be allowed to go to gigs.
The "clap clap clap"
bit is awful
The shit thing about these is:
It seems very, very contrived.
I imagine the process when they were writing the songs.
Member A: "These songs are totally brutal, dudes, but we sound exactly like everyone else. We need to do something that not only separates us from the rest of the massive, massive crowd of bands that sounds pretty much identical to listeners, but also something that makes journalists wet themselves in joy."
Member B: "Yeah, do something stupid like hold a note down on a synthesizer at the start of the song."
All members: "Totally."
NME: "ITS THE TRANCE METAL REVOLUTION. ITS TAKING OVER!!!"
They
just sound like every other metal/hardcore/emo/whatever the hell u want to call it. Fine if thats ur bag but they have nothing els to offer.
As to NME anything with a synth in is new rave of trance metal or happy grunge core all very silly i think
I saw them at
Guildford Community Center, which is basically a shitty parish hall, about a year ago now. My friend Andy put them on, they 'headlined' over Meet Me In St. Louis, which was frankly ridiculous. They complained that no one would turn the lights off for about an hour, and then they played their first song, and I promptly left. And they're still shit.
I try so hard to like them
because they come from St Albans, where I live, and I saw them at our crappy youth club before it all blew up. I really really WANT to like them...
but they're just bad.
sumo may be the biggest
but its still a bit crap
true, got it in one
a few automated bleeps from a synth doesn't make something new
the tour says everything really - its for young kids
their bubble will burst once the audience outgrows them in a year or so
hurmm...
i can't believe how big they are.
my friend is friends with them and we saw a poster in coventry under a year ago and she was saying how they were alright.
now they're just everywhere...
Awesome
The music may not be that special and maybe that's why they're not signed.
The thing they do though is play everywhere so that it doesnt matter if they're not on the radio or music TV and they dont have an album out. Everyone has still heard of them and everyone in a small town who would have to get a train to London or Birmingham to see a well known band can save their money and see Enter Shikari at their local pub or club the and them as Myspace friends. That is why they deserve massive amounts of credit.
Please don't patronise
Kids.
Just because most teenagers are narristic, insecure conformists, doesn't mean they all are.
Bah, the ignorance is astonding.
...
Enter Shikari are good for new music.
I like them.
Have you seen what shit the new music scene keep producing?
Enter Shikari are good.
:)
