J Mascis Crashed In Fog

Longtime Dinosaur Jr frontman J Mascis was injured in an car accident in Sweden on Sunday

According to a spokesperson for the band, Mascis & the Fog were driving at 70mph just outside Halmstad on Sunday (17th June) when they were cut off by a car. Their van skidded, slid off the highway, and fell over on its side. Mascis escaped with two broken vertebrae in his back, whilst his Fog all got away with a few cuts and bruises.

"J. will be okay but obviously needs to take it easy for a while," said the band's spokesperson. Mascis should be released from hospital today, and is expected to fly straight home. Unfortunately the remainder of the band's German dates have been cancelled.
