Freebase in your face, The World
This is, maybe, the least-super supergroup I've ever heard of, but anyway...
Bass-lugging sorts Andy Rourke (The Smiths), Mani (Primal Scream/Stone Roses) and Peter Hook (New Order, pictured) are to make sweet, sweet music together under the name of Freebase. That's almost a play on words, almost.
Will it be a jazzy affair, compositionally adventurous and far from restricted by the pop sensibilites of members' previous exploits? Or will it simply be cack? Will anyone _care? Hooky does.
The pleasingly portly Manc - almost certainly a man who enjoys an ale and the odd pie, and therefore a man I can relate to - said of his new already-written-seventeen-songs project: "Everyone laughed at our face when we suggested the idea."
What, everyone in the whole world? Everyone? Probably not, eh Hooky? Now back to the bar with you. Mine's a Broadside, danke.

Challenge Everything?
I learned to play the bass listening to these 3
but this will be rubbish
i thought
this was about the hardcore band freebase and that hooky had joined them. that would be odd.
Apparently Dickie Ashcroft's gonna be involved...
presumably on vocal duties.
I like Mani. He good.
Hmmmm
I shall speak to our old singer as last he had heard he was singing on this project.
He will be gutted.
I did hear
they were going with an "unknown" vocalist.
Hooky was talking about this
two and a half years ago. It's not as if they've all had massive schedules since then (well, Mani might have, come to think of it)
It was our old singer wooooo
Not now as far as I know?
there's a hardcore band called freebase
on household name records, dead good they is too! This on the otherhand sounds as shite as Electronic
Freebase?
lets smoke some crack up in here
"So...
when you chose the name Freebase did you conciously set out to undermine the punk band or were you just too callous to check?"
