Well, not after her next one, anyway.
Gwen Stefani - wife, mother, musician - is to turn her back on her successful solo career following the release of her second album, The Sweet Escape, next month. She'll return to fronting popular funk-rockers No Doubt.
No Doubt, together since 1986, haven't released an album since 2001's Rock Steady; Gwen, meanwhile, put out the hit album Love Angel Music Baby two years ago. Of her decision to return to the band, she commented to The Evening Echo:
"I don't think I will make another [solo album]. I can't predict anything, but I don't plan on making one of these solo dance project records, I definitely feel myself going back to No Doubt after this to do a new album."
Good news? Bad news? Do-you-care news? I know one thing: I'm feelin' hella good about having some lunch...!

Phew
I'm pretty happy about this. No Doubt were getting better with every record and I didn't really like Gwen's solo stuff. Hopefully they can release something fantastic.
Thank fuck
Have you heard the new single? Jesus christ its awful - on a par with rudebox for shear crapness
hey
i wont hear a bad worc about that genius whiteboy rapping. rudebox best single forr ages
HAHAHA
Agree to disagree?
Hint: go to the doctors, your hearing problem must be getting worse! ;)
i'm starting to be a little worried
about your obsession with lunch Mr Diver.
yarr
but, hehe, i hate the guy but i would have loved to be in teh meeting when he put it on the radio as his new album, the looks of the men who paid him an exorbant ammount of money looking in disbelief as williams trys to rap (badly) take on madonna and the pet shop boys and have a song called dickhead, the guy knows at his record label he can do anything, im not giving him any money but christ you must admit it is bloody funny.
im glad to hear it
no doubt are great, and i loved her first solo album- great pop album.
but having heard her latest single, im glad to hear shes going back to no doubt.
:)
Her latest single is bloody awful
It really is. But other than that, I couldn't really care less either way.
New single
hurts my ears!!
She should be kicked in the Bush!
I was going to scream 'champagne'.
Then realized she'll be back with No Doubt.
Now I want a beer.
Badly.
Hahaha
I love you Lyle.
!
I havn't heard the new stuff, but Hollaback Girl and What You Waiting For were tunes. Rich Girl and the other one, weren't though...
How old is she?
I had a raging argument with my brother which lasted about 12 seconds. I reckon she's 40-odd, he says late 20's.
37! I win!
plus add on 5 years as that's obviously a lie. Fuckin' old bitch
hollaback girl
is a ridiculously awful raping of both "housequake" and "mickey" simulataneously. noone, ever, should simultaneously rape one of the best songs ever and one of the worst. just....no
The next poster who refers to kicking a female popstar 'down there'
is going to feel my wrath. I'm fucking sick of it.
oww
she hurts my ears more than any other bad music i've ever heard ever
isn't it a clever reference to Gavin whatshisface?
I nearly wrote Rossiter then realised that was the guy out of Gene. Bush lead singer bloke. Oh forget it.
no doubt
were planning to release without her! could you imagine it?
gwen will she learn..
she should never have gone solo. old school no doubt better than new school! ha.
"I don't plan on making one of these solo dance project records"
Wow. What a fucked up way to promote your new album.
Ok Gwen, then I don't plan on buying your solo "dance project" record. Especially since you admitted most tracks are "leftovers" from LAMB.
She's a talentless berk...
...good. No more from her please. Her 'style' is rubbish too.
...
her new stuff makes me want to shake her and go GWEN SNAP OUT OF IT, but it seems shes realised that anyways.
its annoying but still catchy and funny to listen to.
its just like shes trying to be like everyone else in the industry with her solo stuff. in 15 years time, if i was her kid i'd be way embarrassed with her solo songs - well the first album was bearable, this one just takes the cake.
.
See what you did there.
the worry is
that when she goes back, we'll all notice that no doubt really belong to a totally different time and, good or not, they're now actually a bit shit. and she is weird looking.
Hurray!
That's better :D
She should have never had a solo career in the first place
I kinda liked "No Doubt", but when she came out with her solo career, she just showed the world how much of a freak she was. No Doubt will never be the same again. At most they'll only have one more record. There's not enough room for her ego.
I love Gwen and No Doubt
Although her TICK TOCK song, (fuck what is it called??) was great fun and I liked it.
But YAY to No Doubt coming back in bigger and better form, err, no doubt...
Rudebox
is an absolutely phenomenal record. Can you imagine anybody else making that record? And from somebody in his position?
And if you clean out your ears, and turn off the Q Magazine Rock Establishment Stlye Police part of your brain, it's chock full of solid gold tunes. it's all so gloriously, perversely honest.
Gwen's solo stuff on the other hand, with the exception of that very first single, is pish.
MORE NO DOUBT!
I MISS NO DOUBT
NOT SURE ABOUT HER NEW SOLO STUFF SEEMS TO HAVE LOST IT A BIT..
NO DOUBT WAS GOOD BRING EM BACK
Alas..
You too shall be fuckin' old one day, young man.. Although *probably* not looking as hot as Gwen.. Or with a multi-million dollar record deal.. Or with a twenty-nine figure bank balance (I'm guessing there)..
