I don't know if it's the Westway
but feel it appropriate to note that the Westway is my favourite road.
I don't like it.
I wanted to see Kele in pink Spandex.
mine too!
let's drive it tonight
i think it is
i think it's near westbourne park / ladbroke grove.
Somewhat ironic being east london lads eh? no? ok, i'll get my coat. ;->
"east london is a vampire
it sucks the life right out of me"
The old artwork was better
The one with the No U-turn sign in the middle
I liked the old one too
Still haven't heard the album yet.
hmmm
I've heard The Prayer.
I probably shouldn't judge it on a single listen but it's really going to have to grow on me big time for me to change my initial 'man, that's piss poor' opinion.
...
They're not funky.
I swear that was a fake
the font just wasn't right.
[/designer talk]
anyways, I prefer the fake one.
Old cover
was better.
Is there anyone on God's green Earth
Who hasn't heard it yet? I saw DJ drop Hunting for Witches over the weekend and get a cheer from the crowd.
you just know...
that the album will be arse, bomb and then they'll disappear into obscurity like every other 'next best thing' of the past 5 years.
It's a shame cause I really liked Silent Alarm.
no belfast on the tour?
Bastards.
thats where you are wrong
they have made a far better record than SA, im really impressed by the whole thing. they are here to stay
IrishMagpie, I concur!
Bastards! They were amazing last November in the Ulster Hall! One of the best gig's I've ever been to & they go & do that do us, not nice! Anyone think there's a possiblity of any additions to the dates then?
errr
do you write news stories every time a band decides on their artwork?!
No, they don't
clearly. I'm guessing a lot of people would be interested in this, moreso than your average band. Therefore making it 'news'. Just a theory
Just as a note
This is a photo by the same person who provided from the cover of The Streets - Original Pirate Material, which is one of my favourite covers of all time.
This isn't.
LONDON ASTORIA 2ND FEBRUARY
OMG! OMG! OMG!
My birthday. Oh yes.
Thursday night = drink loads, party.
Friday night = gig!
Saturday night = more fun.
Sunday = Recover.
wh releases albums after christmas?
i thought the idea was, especially if the album is already finished, to put it out in time for the holiday gift giving season?
no
because the market is flooded with best ofs at christmas, and original material sinks.
I can't believe they're trying to 'market' a Bloc Party album
Surely, in the most part, these things sell themselves?
i have no idea
what you're talking about.
New album
Anyone else heard it? Not a drastic departure from Silent Alarm, but it's got some pretty mind-boggling effects all throughout. I think it's as solid as their debut, maybe even better (need some more time with it)... and that was my favourite album of the last five years.
The first half of the album
is absolutely staggering. The rest of it I'm not sure about yet, but the first five songs alone are enough to make it a very good album.
oohhh
Like an inverted OK Computer sleeve.
yeah yeah yeah
but WHERE have you heard it? do tell... and the funny thing is not why have they made a news story about the cover, but that we're all (kind of) talking about it...
