Shifty Disco - Oxford-based indie label founded on many a record a la the one pictured - turns 10 years old in January, and is releasing a nice boxset to celebrate.
The three-CD set is split into three sections (d'uh): Now, Then and Maybe. It'll be out on January 22.
Around the same time, Shifty Disco will be putting on four shows across the country, starring bands such as The Race and My Device. Dates!
January
25 Brighton Cable Club @ Pressure Point
26 London Luminaire
27 Oxford Zodiac
28 Bristol Louisiana
Should you be interested, Shifty Disco's first-ever release was Dustball's 'Senor Nachos', on January 27 1997. I was only 16 then!

Autolux: the future's perfect rock band?
I boguht Senor nachos too
a bit strange really, I was 14!
I also like how the bands you have are Dustball and Dive Dive, who (as any fule kno) are the same band.
Other bands released on shifty... The unisex, The Race. mmm tasty
Ten years!
Blimey. I remember when they did the "0-60 in Five Years" boxset, with every release from the singles club. I just got the sampler, though.
Other great SD bands include Samurai Seven, Eeebleee and Beulah - who, despite being from San Francisco or thereabouts, seemed to play the Point every other week and yet I NEVER went to see them. I regret it now.
samurai seven were ace
they've re-launched as the dirty royals now haven't they?
yes
I'd guessed you were aware, yes
they released a few Frigid Vinegar tunes
and I LOVED them at the time. Might dig out Dogmanaut 2000 tonight. I'll probably hate it now...but How Cheap is Your Love is still a tune.
The Domes of Silence
The Domes of Silence... sleazy bastards who are released by Shifty... Tarnished Evidence was fantastic
.
Great label. My favourite release so far is Emma Blowgun's Last Stand by Beulah. Remember seeing them support Super Furry Animals at The Scala back in the day.
ALSO...
"Hung Like A Stone2 by Murray The Hump. I think it was called that anyway. used to like it but never bought it. Though thats probably because I could never find it.
it was sold out fast
but can now be found for 0.99 on e-bay...
Other great shifty disco singles include Persil and Scribble.
Dogmonaut 2000 is still a great tune.
Only its title dates it.
awww
dustball.
Eeebleee
...they were ruddy awesome, best singles club release I ever got. Them and Monkey Steals The Drum.
woop
the shifty disco eeebleee cd i have is ace . but dont just go to the cable club on the 25th, go on the 4th jan too and see mee!
I didn't know you cared
...and I thought we'd been pissing in the wind out here in Oxford for the past 10 years.
it's so good to read so many positive comments on our releases past and present.
I don't know if we'll ever make it to 20 but then again who thought we'd still be here now...
Dr Disco
eeebleee were great, yes.
Then they split.
Then they put everything they ever recorded up *free* on their website.
I'm afraid I don't remember the address, but it shouldn't be too hard to find...
