DFA1979: New LP in March
- Artists:
- Death From Above 1979 »
Canadian rock-spazz duo Death from Above 1979 return to the studio this September to record the follow-up to their (rather splendid) debut 'I'm a Woman, You're a Machine'
Bass-monster and synth-basher Jesse Keeler told American newsfelchery Billboard that "The new album will come out in March, but we will be done with it in December... I write the music and Sebastian writes all the vocal things -- which I have nothing to do with. It will probably be 10 songs long and ... epic."
Plus, if you're up for a trek, the pair tour with Queens of the Stone Age and Nine Inch Nails in October.
Hooray!

Re: DFA1979: New LP in March
This isn't on Pitchfork, NME or even the bands forum yet. You guys are quick!
Re: DFA1979: New LP in March
AND VERY NAKED.
Re: DFA1979: New LP in March
Isn't a combination of naked and quick a BAD thing though?
Re: DFA1979: New LP in March
That's not what my Mum said, apparently it affects lots of people :(

Re: DFA1979: New LP in March
If the rumours are true, Queens are playing a rescheduled Kok date pre-reading (possibly the 23rd of August) DFA1979 are in the Country at that time. I WILL cry tears of joy if they support.

The 23rd is actually the date of the DFA Mean Fiddler gig. But I'm praying they still might do the Queens thing. Annoying really, as I was meant to be going DFA.

I'm almost skeptical. Their usual sound set-up seems like a receipe for a one-off wonder. But I'm A Woman is so good, I pray I'm wrong.
I hope they headline their own show (at a smaller venue). I hate going to gigs to see the opening act.

Re: DFA1979: New LP in March
I'm confused. Who you talking about? The Mean Fiddler is wee and they're headlining that.
I know what you mean about the one off wonder thing. There's definately a limit to what they can do with a bass, drums and synth. I don't mind more of the same if it's good quality, but hmm...

And MAYBE on the 23rd August here too...
NIN are meh though, I'd prefer it was like.......SOAD or something. And arenas suck balls.
