Clap Your Hands Say Yeah: new album and tour news

- Clap Your Hands Say Yeah! »
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah are return to record stores in January - their second album is released just ten months after the UK release of their self-titled debut. It seems like its been longer, doesn’t it? But then they were ‘blogged’ beyond belief...
Recorded this summer with producer Dave Fridmann - the man's credits include Mercury Rev’s Deserters Songs, Flaming Lips' The Soft Bulletin and Sleater Kinney’s final effort, The Woods - CYHSY's second album should be a more consistent effort than their debut. We hope.
Anyway! They tour our fair isle as a result, in February...
February
2 Manchester Academy
3 Glasgow Barrowlands
4 Birmingham Academy
13 London Shepherd's Bush Empire
Just what are they up to from February 5 'til 12? Go-karting, maybe? Practising their darts? Do Americans play darts much? Never see any down Lakeside...

Beyond the frontlash: Black Kids on their "classic" debut
I thought
their debut was excellent. Very consistent. Contrary to the DiS review, the singing is not out of tune and 'Upon this tidal wave of young blood' is a brilliant tune (albeit with a rubbish ending). I can't wait for the next record.
I liked it too
Live they were ropey though.
I'll be buying it.
It's a very good album
Seeing them live for the third time, however, is something I'd go out of my way to avoid
...
No exact date on the album yet then?
i
didnt dig the album that much, as a whole album they just got a bit meh. never seen them live though.
.
Absolutely loved the first album. However, saw them live at UCL and have rarely been so disappointed by a gig.
I thought they were ok
at UCL. I'm not sure if I've got my facts right but they hadn't got many gigs under their belt at that time anyway. I saw them at The Forum, very good live. I've got my Shepherd's Bush tickets already, their debut album was amazing, not a dud song on it.
yes
At the Metro they were slightly disappointing, but it felt much stronger at The Forum
their album
was very consistant. compared to most three-singles-and-the-rest-filler albums these days it was a masterpiece.
barrowlands?!
that's like massive. and they dont let you out to smoke. bugger
i'm surprised
at Barrowlands. Album was great, live at ABC2 earlier this year the were fckn rotten. Much like The Spinto Band who i compared them to and got shot down. They also sucked live
