Icy gods Sigur Ros unveil new material over the coming week with three UK dates. The band whose third studio album is tentatively slated for September have thusly only played two tracks from the new record, 'Gong' and 'Mílanó' headline their own Somerset House show as well as two regional dates. A single is also penned for August

As an aside, the new album is said to sound like Korn, which by all accounts could be extremely interesting.

I don't have a ticket since I too made the mistake of choosing The Mars Volta over Sigur Ros (WHY? I'VE SEEN TMV A WHOLE BUNCH OF TIMES?) so if anyone has a spare one it would be MUCH appreciated - bar that I'm going to try and get one off a tout.

this has been upsetting me for months... they're playing glasgow but i'll be in a big field getting trashed before a whole weekend of lovely bands.
dilemma: arrive early at titip, getting guttered before sunset by consuming a weekends supply of 'whatever' or go see sigur ros, have the aural equivalent of a big bag of 'whatever', but risk being late for festival......?

'amina' are the support act for sigur ros. they're also their backing band. four lovely girls doing cool electronics and strings.
got to see them at adem's homefires festival, and loved them. made me regret not buying sigur ros tickets, as they were sold out after that. amina made me think that the sigur ros gig would be value for money, but twas too late.

Just in after the Glasgow show. Very good but mobbed. If you've got tickets for any of the shows get there early.

The sound was really good, the visuals excellent, including when the computer conked out and we had the Apple error message projected, twice.
