Leeds-based Chinchilla Festival announced - line up, tickets, stuff...
The event, held across three days at two venues in Leeds, boasts an impressive line up of underground acts, each well worth investigation by the curious and open-minded. The following is the offical blurb:
The chinchilla collective are proud to present the third annual chinchillafest.
This year, the festival will be a benefit for the two venues we're using for the three days of fun. The Common Place is an autonomous space in the city centre - to find out more visit here - and the Brudenell Social Club is a vital space in the heart of LS6, under threat from closure due to sound complaints unless money is raised to sound proof the venue. To find out more visit here.
Here is the line up. No doubt a few things will change (they always do), but you should get a good idea of what's happening... some of these descriptions are a bit shit as I'm cramped for space, so give me a shout if you want to know more about anyone playing.

MEMBERSHIP
As the Common Place and Brudenell Social Club are both member's clubs, you will need membership to enter the venues. Sorry to those of you that don't already have membership, as this means you'll need a few extra quid to get in, but please don't feel victimised - legally, both clubs require all visitors to be members, and membership fees are also a vital way to help keep the places open... so please remember to keep £2 for membership to the Common Place and £1.20 for the Brudenell if you're not already a member. Thanks.
For more information on this rather tasty event, check out the Chinchilla website here, or email the festival folk themselves on dangerchinchilla@hotmail.com.
Now, who wants to a) drive me to Leeds and b) let me stay on their sofa? Eh?

Brudenell membership is not included and will cost you an additional £1.20. Proceeds from the gig will be donated to the brudenell in an attempt to soundproof the venue to ensure the smooth running of future events. The Brudenell is great, but you don't need me to tell you that, or indeed, that they sell pretty cheap booze. Yeah!
We shall be running a tight ship on the day in order to fit everything in so if wanna see stuff be there early or watch this space for possible running times.
Sorry if this has ****ed with anyone's plans and i hope to see you all down the front! Thanks
