ATP April to be headlined by Nick Cave
The frankly legendary Nick Cave - I played The Boatman's Call on the way into work, y'know - is to headline April's All Tomorrow's Parties festival.
The Australian, pictured, will perform solo at the three-day festival, to be held at Minehead Butlins Holiday Camp over the weekend of April 27-29. Tickets are on sale now, priced at £120-£140.
The event's curated by The Dirty Three, and acts also confirmed to play include: Grinderman, The Drones, Low, Papa M, Tara Jane O'Neil, Magnolia Electric company, Faun Fables and Brokeback.
For more information, and to buy tickets, click to the festival's official website, here.

This will make me ever unpopular
but I have never been bowled over by Nick Cave - I find his fans especially repellant, which is a shame as the Bad Seeds are excellent musicians.
I'm too old for ATP now I think. that's sad.
YEEEEEEEEEEAH!
I can't wait.
repellent
blah.
You're never too old for ATP.
And what's wrong with Nick Cave fans?
prole, you're in trouble now
any more attacks on my heroes, and I'm going to... look cross.
oh, and
YAY!
with or without?
Is he solo, like recent live shows or is it with the Bad Seeds? obviously there's probably gonna be some kind of collaboration with Dirty Three but what's the core set gonna be?
I love Nick Cave by the way.
mleh
bring back shellac
Seeing these acts individually
would be/has been amazing.
Seeing them one after another at atp will be a snorefest. Not enought variety. Plus, the drones being absolutely dire is a stumbling block.
hmm
that is a possibility, i'm hoping that it'll diversify a bit once they announce some more. i think i might hold out to hear the second weekend headliners before committing...
Are they the Drones who were 'big in Manchster'
in the 70s? I'm 'guessing' they're not.
i'm of two minds...
re this line-up. whilst i'd be intrigued to see nick cave perform, i hold the same reservations prole (re fans)& jamie_s (diversity/2nd wend).
papa m and brokeback, i'd really like to see but think i'll hold off for a london show.
also, i'm not too sure about minehead... obviously the atp folk want to encourage a larger audience, so hence the move to a bigger 'holiday camp'... i guess i'll see how it pans out at the nightmare b4 xmas before i commit...
The Drones
are total Blues Hammer!
Well, perhaps I'm "too old" for ATP too,
being - GOSH! - in the latter half of my twenties. And although I am actually quite repellent, I've never found the time to develop a proper, full-on Nick Cave habit. But I think I shall be purchasing tickets for this - I'm still an ATP virgin, for one thing, and having spent countless drunken nights watching Nick Cave live videos with my boss, I know I SIMPLY MUST see him in the real live flesh at some point before one of us dies. Plus he really likes Bury St Edmunds - does that, by association, make all of Bury St Edmunds repellent too?
Can someone
explain this thing about Nick Cave fans being repellent. What are the main charges?!
I'll be in Melbourne.
What a cruel, cruel twist of fate!
YOU'VE NEVER BEEN TO ATP?
Do it, Seymour. You won't regret it.
Hang on -
YOU'VE NEVER SEEN NICK CAVE LIVE?
You should definitely go.
oh no!
there'll only be rubbish Australian bands left there!
yes
i'm slightly confused by it.
most of the more gothy 80s ones have buggered off by now, when i saw him everyone was rather normal and friendly?
moan moan moan
MINEHEAD ... fucking Minehead ... why can't it be down the road in Camber Sands like its always been? Anyone know why they changed it? Is this place bigger or something?
Capacity
Camber Sands = 2,500
Minehead = 6,000
I'm a big Nick Cave fan
and it's true I repel people like anthrax (yes i mean the 80's metal band).
nick cave live
if he's playing solo, it wont be the full on striding about the stage pointing his fingers at heaven thing that he normally does. it'll be a sit down ballady affair - good but no where near as interesting as the full bad seeds shows.
minehead
its in minehead 'cause a bunch of mars volta fuck heads smashed up the toilets at camber.
Cunts.
(minehead is not that bad tho)
