Dogs, they don't die after dropping: band signs new deal

Dogs. Remember them? I saw them at The Garage once, playing to all of three people. They were dire. Still, some people liked 'em quite a bit - if I recall correctly they even toured with Razorlight and The Duke Spirit on an NME tour a while back - and Weekender Records are among said people.
The band's first release from their new home will be a single, 'Soldier On'; it'll hit stores - those places your mum buys her Il Divo records in - on November 13. An album is due out before Christmas.
Hey, they tour too! Who'd have ever thunked?

Second Chance Sunday: appraising the overlooked
Fair play to em..
My band supported this lot back in June and I thought they were top blokes.
The Enemy also supported that night who I think will be massive soon.
Dogs rock
I loved their debut album - so really quality tunes on there
not suprised they were dropped
really surprised to see them re-signed...
Btw, anyone knows if Duels have been dropped ( I made a bet with someone they would be before the end of the year...)
I
really, really hate dogs.
but they have a fair few fans, like Paul Weller.
I thought they were alright
After seeing them on that NME tour.
Put on a decent show imo.
One of them...
tried to chat me up (a very rare occurance indeed) in After skool - seemed like a really nice bloke...however didn't seem too pleased when he had to repeat the name of his band about five times and on the fifth time i still didn't have a fucking clue who they were.
I'm old and they're not very good.
They came to one of our gigs.
Well, their bassist did. He said we were really good. Strangely enough, I couldn't really take that seriously.
Average band
Although I saw someone bigging up The Enemy back there.
They're good.
i doubt it
a mate had a really fancy packed album the other day, proper nice digi pack. sent from their label to him. Expensive packaging = still signed and having money thrown behind them.
such disdain on here
i really thought they were good. excellent live at times, and the album's not bad, some corkin tracks on there. signing to Island was probably an error as they were never gonna get much of a look in really.
True story..
the cocky little whipper snappers are very good
you're having a laugh?
the enemy are rubbish!
another shit arctic monkeys rip off band. they formed this year! and they're older than they let on..
Have you seen
what label their single is coming out on? What's going on there?
lancaster?
lancaster charlotte, surely you mean the leicester charlotte... not that i'd go, but yes it is in my own town. good day to you sir!
the enemy?
can someone provide their myspace or website (since there are so many 'the enemy's).
thank you. (=
I hate losing a bet.
Apparently their record company doesn't hate losing money...
also
i'm thinking it should be welly not nelly in hull.
good first single...
then all downhill from there. It was a bad sign, all the money being thrown at their releases.
Great band
Live or on CD this band are brilliant.
They have a loyal and large following spread across the UK. Perhaps a few years earlier and the cynics who've posted here would be singing their praises.
The songs are lyrically very clever and with catchy hooks (bass and guitar) they're a strong band. Soldier on is a brilliant tune, snappy, cocky and punchy, think razorlight "rip it up".
For the fan of UK music, check them out, you won't be dissapointed.
They are the DOGS
second the comments from mister-jp, anyone that doesnt rate the Dogs has either seen them on an off night (of which there are not many) or not given the album the time and courtesy it deserves.
These are one of our best bands and by far the most under-rated
Check them out...
