Darkness man records solo LP

In something of a what-the-heck-went-on-here event, red top rag, The Sun, claims that The Darkness' frontman, Justin Hawkins is to release a solo record in June called 'British Wail'. Obviously, this smells like pants, so despite Justin's quotes of "It's a lot less rock that the band stuff. There's a lot more synths. I suppose you could call it luxurious rock.", we actually, ACTUALLY rang up a record company to ask for ourselves...
And lo, the nice man from Atlantic Records said: "Well, it's not nonsense - but it's not necessarily true. He's had the record from the start, but he definitely won't be releasing it until after the second Darkness album". On the new record from Hawkins and co, it appears that the band are at the closing stages of recording and are in the process of laying down vocals. Given notions of mixing and all that stuff, an Autumn release seems quite feasible...

we should do spread betting on how long it takes to reach the bargain bins

the sad thing is though, it won't end up in the bargin bin, it'll more than likely fly off the shelves, only further supporting the claim that the record buying public shouldn't be allowed to have a bank account without first reciting all the Fall's albums. Chronologically.

I really didn't think the Paramount channel would spring for series two.
Re: Darkness man records solo LP
I think you've just explained why I like The Darkness.

Wow the darkness I really love them! Ther r so deep you know? It's brilliant that people like justin can still have a say in this world with the heady punk he plays. His solo stuff is going to have the audacity of Kiss in the early days with the lyrical brilliance of the seahorses. Forget rooster these guys can really rock!

Bah. The Darkness are just entertainment. I don't mind if people actively dislike them, but I just get the feeling there's a lot of looking-over-the-shoulder-to-make-sure-your-credibility-remains-intact-with-your-equally-sheltered-peers going on here.
"I Believe In A Thing Called Love" is a great pop song.
Word. Or something.

to be fair they were a great laugh at t in the park two years ago... but i certainly don't own the album *ahem*
however Justin doing a synth album called "British Wail" fails to get me going.

Re: Darkness man records solo LP
i think people need to lighten up a bit, the darkness are meant to be fun, i mean there a good live band, theyve made some good pop tunes and they dont take themselves too seriously, its not like their evil like kasabian etc
