Fall Out Boy: new album almost finished

Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz - have you seen his wee willy winkle? - has spoken to MTV News via e-mail about his band's new album, the follow-up to whatever their last long-player was called. Something about a cork tree? Really, what do I care...
The man, he typed:
"I hate hearing bands talk about their new records before I hear them. Inevitably all bands trash their old songs, which we love, and insist they have come up with an entirely new formula. Then you hear the record and it sounds basically, for all intents and purposes, exactly like the band has always sounded. We're not the kind of band that is just gonna throw you in a cold pool with all of your clothes on just to get the party started — at least we wouldn't in this particular metaphor."
WHAT? I guess he's saying that he still likes Fall Out Boy's old songs, and that the new ones won't get you wet. Or something. Wentz previously said, though, that fans shouldn't hold their breath for a new album. Mixed messages? How about you mix me a drink, boy.
The man, he added:
"It never really feels like the homestretch, but I think we should be finished tracking this week. Or maybe we will do one more song, we'll see. I think the date the label wants the record is Halloween. We're gonna deliver it dressed in costumes. Or maybe not."
But that IS this year! Gosh, I'm going for a lie down, with a pretty lady. Know any? Where's that drink...

i think Wentz
drunk all the drink. This makes no sense, he is clearly an idiot.
Aren't they all straight edge
apart from the guitarist? Man, he must have a great time getting drunk on his own.
...
Everything I hear from that muppet proves what everyone (that's everyone who isn't a daft emo bint) already thinks about him, namely that he's a mong.
Don't be so harsh, you lot
Pete seems alright. I don't go for 'emo' as a lifestyle at all, but as far as I can tell Fall Out Boy elevate themselves above that because they're not emo at all - they're pop to these ears. Pop's alright, y'know.
Having said that, the new album will probably consist entirely of Belgian nose flute solos.
...
I have no problem with pop (erm, I've stood next to you at the front of the last two Silver Sun gigs...) but Pete Wentz just drives me up the bloody wall with his perpetual arrogance and general idiocy.
That said, I have a couple of their CDs and they're not that awful... they're just one of those bands that have been overplayed to the point of "oh fucking hell, not again".
makes sense to me
i'm not a fan - but the quotes in the article make sense. i also find it annoying that so many bands trash their old tunes and pretend they've reinvented the wheel, when actually they've just progressed a little... it's dumb. and just because it's that-dude-from-falloutboy saying it doesn't mean he isn't right.
I can't quite see the problem
I'm not sure where the arrogance thing is coming from. He doesn't spend his life slagging off other bands (even when certain singers try to drag him into it), takes fan interaction to a high extreme (perhaps he goes too far on that front) and... I don't know. Seems OK to me.
Anything can be spoiled by radio (and TV) overexposure, but let's blame the radio for that, not Pete Wentz.
calling something "pop"
Is too often an excuse for something being rubbish.
There's a big difference between good pop and utter pap - FOB are the latter.
..
Yes ^
..
Oh great.
Another fucking shit band that I'll keep hearing.
Why?
...
To be honest it's probably down to the fact that he loves himself so much... and particularly the way he acted like such a complete tit at Reading... and makes Fall Out Boy's videos all about him...
I would go on but I've got a ready meal to microwave.
trolls
i heard the singer has to stand on a box in their videos cos he's about 5ft.
Pete Wentz
is a very very strange looking man. Like they've jumbled up the face parts of 10 other blokes.
Thats actaully sonny moore.
I think you're thinking about From First To Last, their song is about 5"3.
Patrick is an avg. height.
Pete is straight edge.
&Fall out boy is NOT emo.
The only thing emo you could get out of it, is Peter's hair cut.
Get lives, bash other bands like NoFX or something, cause they just suck.
uhhhh...
actually, no, he doesn't... DUH!
oh
by the way, i was talking to the person who said patrick (the singer) had to stand on a box.
