Benicassim - bands announced for 2005

The nice, hot non-scally alternative to festival goers, Benicassim in Spain, has announced a raft of headliners and other acts for it's 2005 shin dig.

The festival - seen as one of the more unique and better ones on the continent - is a beachside extravaganza and takes place from the 4-7th August.

This year offers Oasis, Nick Cave, LCD Soundsystem, Keane, Basement Jaxx, Dinosaur Jr., Underworld and Yo La Tengo in the top billing placements, with a slew of other bands also confirmed...

if anyone is planning to go to this year, do it! it is without doubt the finest festival ever. having been to all the UK festivals, this pisses all over them. My only concern is that it gets taken over by all the brist comign over and ruingin its chilled out atmsophere...

Benicassim - bands announced for 2005

If have nothing to do with the promoters or organisers aof this festival but Hultsfred - just south of stockholm, sweden - has it's 20th anniversary festival this Year. 16th, 17th, 18th June. Hives,Snoop Dogg, NIN, Eric Prydz(!),Slayer, Mars Volta, Tori Amos etc. etc. Not a bad line up all round.

Been the last three years, unbelievable place. Right by an amazing beach, miles better than Leeds fest for sure.
There's always a few random Spanish bands on, but the line-up is as good as any British one, with the bonus of the weather being 40 degrees! champion!

I thought last year's line up was stunning, so I was planning to go this year, but it just looks like a re-run of last year's Glasto. I'm mean Oasis and Keane - any more middle of the road and they'll have to call it the white line festival. The Swedish festival sounds pretty decent...anyone any other suggestions?

its a great festival, roll on august. theres a good mix there and erlend oye by the sea will be great i hope, they say theres loads more to be added, hopefully beck...

is the Hultsfred festival far away from stockholm?
