Albarn joins the wheels of steel on fundraising event
The event will raise funds for Dax Pierson [a much loved and respected musician from the groups Subtle, 13+god and Themselves] who last February was badly injured in a road accident. Dax was on the Subtle tour bus in North America which crashed after hitting a patch of black ice. A vertebra in his spine was shattered and his spinal chord damaged. Although Dax is now thankfully in a stable condition he’s been left with a long period of rehab in front of him and it’s been estimated that Dax will need around $80,000 to convert his home and get the equipment he needs to live a decent life. The organisers are attempting to raise $15,000 with the “Fun Raisin” show. Already confirmed are live appearances by Hot Chip and Hood among others with be augmented by DJ sets including Chris Cunningham and a special Super Furry Animals DJs v Mogwai DJs event.
100% of the ticket price will go to Dax.
This is one of a series of shows that are being held across the globe for Dax. Munich, Berlin, Zurich, San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, Boston, Minneapolis, Chicago, and Vancouver will also host similar events.
