Hear Ye! Hear Ye! REM hath anounceth the honorable musicians they hath chosen to accompany them on the adventures that shall occureth on their summer tour...

Ok, seriously. REM just announced a bunch of the acts that will be supporting them on the UK leg of their tour in June and July. Among those added were Richard Hawley, Jonathan Rice, Ambulance Ltd, and Idlewild. The groups will be playing with REM on the following dates:

JUNE
12 Isle of Wight Festival (Snow Patrol, Embrace)
14 Glasgow Green Big Top (Richard Hawley)
15 Sheffield Hallam FM Arena (Richard Hawley)
17 Lancashire County Cricket Ground (Feeder, The Zutons, Idlewild)
18 Loch Lomond Balloch Country Park (The Zutons, Ambulance Ltd)

JULY
5 Hull The KC Stadium (The Zutons, Idlewild)
6 Nottingham Forest Football Club (The Zutons, Idlewild)
8 Ipswich Town Football Club (The Zutons, Idlewild)
9 London Hyde Park (Feeder, The Zutons, Idlewild, Jonathan Rice)
10 Cardiff Milennium Stadium (The Zutons, Idlewild, Jonathan Rice)

Oh, I see... so are Embrace, Feeder and The Zutons.

Idlewild would be the obvious choice given that on some of the new tracks on their album they actually are REM.

Hyde Park is turning into a festival. Pity only Idlewild are good out of the support bands. I guess I'll appreciate REM even more after watching a set by the fucking Zutons.

Who the hells Jonathon Rice??? Feeder'll be awesome as will idle wild but i don't know if i'll be able to stand the zutons for long, arrrr my poor ears.......
Can't wait for the 9th July, is anyone else going on the Hyde Park date?
