One of the greatest bands ever. They were brilliant in 1997. Bug and without a sound are classic albums. Be sure to go and see them !!!! ;~)

bought my tickets today! Hurrah!

I Don't see the menswear reformation getting up any steam, seeing as how Simon White's managing Bloc Party now.

I'm going to see them tonight at Spaceland in Silver Lake (Hollywood area). Original billing was J. Mascis and the Fog with "very special guests". Tickets were $15, so quite a bargain vs. the London price. Spaceland's occupancy is roughly 100 max - gonna be incredible. If you haven't seen them live before, be warned to bring earplugs for your earplugs!

They killed. It wasn't my favorite of the recent reunion shows simply because I love some of the other bands more, but on a purely performance level this was THE best of all the reunion shows - including the Pixies, Mission of Burma, and Stooges shows. J, Lou, and Murph are all playing better now than they've ever played on record (can't say about live as I'd never seen the original Dino Jr live). J simply destroyed, a whole other level from previous DJ, Fog, solo shows I've seen. Most importantly, they played as a unit and looked as though they were thoroughly enjoying themselves.

Anyone who is a DJ fan needs to see this. I'm only a casual fan, and it blew me away.

They were actually not as loud as usual. When I took out my plugs I didn't see stars and feel like my ears had been boxed. They might have had to keep the noise level down due to the small venue being in a residential area/having a noise ordinance. I would play it safe and bring earplugs, because I've seen J both solo and with The Fog and those were both ear bleeders.

They were inspired - I never saw J smile so much and they gave three encores. Just great playing and unbelievable guitar work from J.

Living in L.A. does have its perks - if any bands decide to do a reunion, even for a handful of shows, then L.A. and NYC get the nod more often than not. The Pixies were great, but more workman-like. Dinosaur Jr. really seemed to be trying to prove a point on their legacy. Don't miss them if they make it to your area.
