Babyshambles: not "unreliable sods" anymore

Babyshambles have spoken to NME.com about their signing to Parlophone for the release of an EP, adding that they're no longer "unreliable sods".
The four-piece signed with the label's imprint Regal without even submitting a demo, following their departure from Rough Trade. Drummer Adam Ficek told the website: "We're just seeing if we like the label and vice-versa. But it's amazing really, we're made up about them signing us for the EP because they didn't even hear a demo. It's frightening when you consider we're such an unreliable bunch of sods. But we're not like that any more, so that's cool."
The band, as yet, have no label confirmed for their next album; their debut, Down In Albion, was something of a flop critically and commercially last year (DiS review here). They're in talks with both B-Unique and Warner Brothers, as well as Parlophone/Regal.

....
i also find it "frightening" that they can get a record deal without doing anything of any merit whatsoever.
Fuck them in the ear.
With all the publicity
they get they don't need talent.
Drug addiction + The Sun = Record deal
Why hasn't
Daniella Westbrook got a record deal then?
Fuck!
How can Babyshambles get a deal by doing bugger all and Data Panik have to split up to get a deal. LIFE ISN'T FUCKING FAIR!!!! :'(
does writing an album
(which personally i thought was quite decent, 7/10) and playing loads of gigs count as 'bugger all'? no.
the fact he gets tabloid coverage due to the long-standing policy of constant anti drug hysteria is incidental. (and anyway, how many sun readers do you know who like his music? i know none, they just enjoy the boring soap opera of it all).
don't read the tabloids if, like me you think they are shite. in the same way, do not listen to his music if you think it is shite.
it was completely inevitable that he would get another deal, as thousands and thousands of people happen to think he is very talented. thousands also disagree.
that reminds me
I have a 'keep on keeping on' wristband (i.e. sorry the band were careless fucks please come back sometime maybe actually we're probably just lying to you) from the koko that I should get a refund for.
ah, the cold bitter laughter of it all
public exposure has no effect upon record sales - oh no.
If only Clearshot had been splashed all over the tabloids and that rag nme...
yeah but
babyshambles ARE unmitigated shite, i don't think it's possible to disagree seriously with that
yes,
of course public exposure has an impact on sales. but not on the music they produce.
i like them. their rambling, shambolic, yet often tender melodies connect with my rambling shambolic mental state and i can connect to it. it puts a smile on my face.
does that make me wrong?
P.S
brusma- damien rice 10/10???
music is truly a matter of opinion.
Get in there...
...Pete you lovely, drug-addled mentalist. 'Here-here' to the debauchery and the hatred, these people don't even know...
even when he gets fucked up
and doesn't sing good (i.e no where near in tune) and doesn't play very well (i.e fucking really bad) and doesn't finish a song people still love it and cheer.
Saw it with my own eyes the other month at the Rhythm Factory.
All very strange I thought.
hmm
is that a 10 on mine? I ought to change some of them, but I did enjoy O a lot when it first came out. except "Volcano", and that horrible version of "Cannonball" that was on radio 2, or whatever.
