Doherty court date set

Smack smokin', supermodel shaggin', sometime pop star Pete Doherty will be 'up before the beak' on February 21st.
According to BBC News Online, the estranged Libertine and Babyshambles singer will appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court, London, alongside fellow musician Alan Wass (guitarist with London four-piece band Left Hand) to face charges of robbery and blackmail.
Doherty has so far spent four nights in prison after failing to secure the £150,000 bail bond needed to secure his release. The troubled singer spent the weekend in Pentonville prison whilst Wass was released on Friday.
However, Doherty should be released sometime today (Tuesday, February 8th). His bail conditions include a curfew between 2200 and 0700, except when he attends a drug rehabilitation centre. He must be accompanied by a security guard when leaving his home, surrender his passport, and report daily to a local police station.
This may put the mockers on Doherty's plan to marry girlfriend Kate Moss and run away to Russia for a while. Bugger. We were looking forward to getting some peace and quiet.

Its a nice thought. But if he died we'd NEVER be rid of him. Just imagine - an authentic rock hero tragically cut off in his prime. Endless posthumous releases of him fucking around with a guitar and whining about Albion, and a permanent classic status. Channel 4 will still be making documentaries about him in 2070

Yeah this is out of hand now. I feel guilty for helping make him a celebrity by buying his records/going to see the libertines babyshambles, him, even seing himin his flat which he charged£10 I thought it was worth it at the time as I thought the world of him. But the after effect of it is stupid. People having smack addiction ect el. Its still a good crowd make alot of liberfiends but for what? get my drift?

I admit that a lot of the time I'll say how shit a band are just as some sort of musicians envy thing...but honestly, from the bottom of my heart, in Pete Docherty I cannot see more than a tiny tiny amount of talent stretched out into some sort of pitiful career with a shitload of hype. His music is derivative and repetitive-

I was even thumbing through an old copy of mojo the other day, and found one of the libertines earlier interviews, from maybe 2001...and even then they'd started the whole 'rockstar smack game'...sad
Hope he doesn't die- I wouldn't wish that on anyone, but if he does, I don't think he'll be as much of a martyr as many people fear....dieing young doesn't make his back catalogue stand up to Hendrix..

Being in court is a reoccuring theme with him. I hope he doesn't end up behind bars, how will he hack it. It seesms Pete has an injured bird quality to make everyone's mums think they can solve his problems with tea and a nice chit chat! Well at least Pete likes Iced tea, one of the more coherent words in his speeches.

The whole suicide thing was blown out of proportion, apparently he was going through really bad withdrawal in prison and was shouting all kinds of shit, including something about wanting to die (to be honest, if I was going cold turkey in prison, or anywhere for that matter, I think I'd be shouting shit like that too). I really do hope he sorts everything out, he's wasting so much talent at the moment.
