The Ed Fitz - all over?

This is lifted from The Edmund Fitzgerald's website:

This gleaming rotten ship is on its last voyage.

The Edmund Fitzgerald will be playing its last set of shows for a very long time (perhaps forever) in its present form. We would like to say thanks to everyone who has helped us out and been a friend and put up w/our cheap and silly tantrums along the way. In particular a sincere thankyou goes out to:

Ady Foley. Simon Cope. Youthmovie Soundtrack Strategies. Noisestar. Rob Fawkes. The Hoon. Chip Lorenzo. Charlottefield. All our real friends and the host of great bands that we've had the honour to share sweat and smiles with. Thank you all.

Basically we all hate each other. well.........

The split 12" w/Bilge Pump should be ready real soon and will be available through www.noisestar.co.uk and off us at the forthcoming shows which are as follows:

We have new interviews and unposed photos on the site for you to peruse when bored. It should have details of future projects which are already braiding themselves as you read. While The Ed Fitz proper is searching new ways of progress. If any beautiful guitarists are interested in playing w/the crew of this doomed vessel then don't hesitate to contact us at the_edmund_fitzgerald@hotmail.com.

Keep yr. eyes peeled for the emergence of spring driftwood and other splinters of capsized ships.

THERE IS NO END. THIS IS NO END

You should ALL see The Ed Fitz before they quit for good. You owe it to yourselves. DO IT.

The Ed Fitz call it quits

To reiterate:

bollocks.

The Ed Fitz call it quits

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Ed Fitz call it quits

perhaps it's a ruse to get lots of people along to their gigs, like the sports shop in Woking that has been having a closing down sale for the last 15 years.

The Ed Fitz call it quits

Dammit! Another ace band gone. I am not impressed!

The Ed Fitz - all over?

They're not definitely over!

Re: The Ed Fitz - all over?

waddayamean?
that looks like fairly solid evidence.

Re: The Ed Fitz - all over?

I mailed you x

Re: The Ed Fitz - all over?

Well, ish...
'in this form'
so probably not as the ed fitz, then.

The Ed Fitz - all over?

I saw that Edmund Fitzjerald man at the bar of the Barbican during a concert of the Modern Ensemble performing the new Steve Reich piece.

I always though of them as the Robert Miles of Post-Rock in the way that their songs all sound exactly the same except for one odd note.

The best toilet venues bands are all going ... ships a going down, econoline, ed fitz, cat on form ... shame.

The Ed Fitz - all over?

fuck. this band are ace. and due to their age, were going to get better really. only saw them once, and they blew me away.

hope to see them in a new form soon

The Ed Fitz - all over?

Apparently Andy from YMSS is joining them.

The Ed Fitz - all over?

I think I might have to get down there for that show with YMSS in March. I will be gutted if I never see this band play.

The Ed Fitz - all over?

fucking amazing band, mates with the drummer, yeah guy from ymss may be playing with them for a bit

The Ed Fitz - all over?

It is a great shame that Lina is to leave The Edmund Fitzgerald. I have seen them perform a number of times and they were always excellent. They have even been kind enough to let me interview them for
www.ph-uk.co.uk
I wish them every success in the future, and hope they can find a suitable replacement guitarist so they can continue to produce such very fine music.

The Ed Fitz - all over?

lina is definately leaving after this run of gigs.

yannis and myself are going to continue to play together. at the moment we are in the process of talking to possible new guitarists.

rest assured that this is not the end. we will be back, bringing our own unique brand of swedish math disco.

/jack xx

The Ed Fitz - all over?

they're cocks. a publicity stunt...

Re: The Ed Fitz - all over?

could just be getting an extra guitarist/ fx person/ even a bassist(!) or something.

Re: The Ed Fitz - all over?

'they're cocks. a publicity stunt...'

Not a fan, I take it?
More of a troll, it would seem!

Re: The Ed Fitz call it quits

i think that sports shop is long gone, the shop that cried wolf

The Ed Fitz - all over?

theyre brillaint, fuck fuck fcuk! cans of rainwater is just a brilliant brilliant song.

The Ed Fitz - all over?

man, regardless of how I feel about the edmund fitzgerald {which is warm, happy feelings} it's well annoying when bands don't say what's actually happening and instead are all bleedin' cryptic.

yep, pretty bleedin' cryptic...

Re: The Ed Fitz - all over?

Well, let's just hope that they find a suitable replacement for Lina soon, so they can reherse and then start to perform again with their new line up.
I still think it a real shame, as the last few times I saw them play, the band produced some of their best performances. The ICA, The Place and 93 Feet East sets were stunning.

The Ed Fitz - all over?

i cant wait for the zodiac gig, gonna be a good night
