While many of our fellow journalistic outlets will offer you The Bravery or a host of other 'safe bet' tips for 2005, at DiS we'd like to place our foot somewhere a little more left of the middle, just like we did with Bloc Party all those months before most.
Thusly, we give you Icelandic Jan Mayen
Melding the fierce, exciting fun of early Ash and Weezer with the experimental sides of Pixies and the noise and enthusiasm of all the above put together, Jan Mayen release their debut record 'Home of the Free Indeed' on March 7th, via Smekkleysa/Bad Taste Records.
Don't just take our word for it though, you can catch the band on their inaugural UK outing at DiS' very own Icelandic night out, curated by XFM's evening legend John Kennedy.
